How were the Warriors able to have 14 players suit up for this game? I thought 13 was the limit. Are two-way players not counted during the G-League's preseason days?

Finally a good, complete game against a half decent opponent. The OKC game doesn't count. Started slow maybe due to 3 days of rust. Finished strong. Steph didn't even shoot like his usual self.

What does every player on Charlotte have in common? They play great against teams that don't play defense.
And...they all suck defensively.

Great game over all. Loved the rotation by Ker when he realized Warriors weren't stopping anyone in the first half.
Lee...is a baller. He makes the game super simple....tough as hell. Becoming a favorite.
Tough start for Curry...nice to see him blow up a bit in the second half

For 2021-22 teams can have up to 15 players active for each game.

I've been watching Warriors games on league pass this year with Away commentary and so far it has been great. OKC, Hornets, Kings commentators all have been great. Lack of Barnett is really killing my tolerance of Fitz.
Also, did you guys notice when Poole got hot early, Steph did the "Klay got hot, let's feed him" impersonation with Poole. I thought that was a nice wrinkle to their synergy issues.

You have access to a lot of this data, right? What is Wiggins most efficient game? Is he better off shooting when given room to shoot or is he more efficiency taking it to the rack? Are we assuming a result not in evidence when we harp on him taking Js instead of driving?Sleepy51 wrote:
I’m curious what the math actually looks like on his game. Clearly he believes that he should take long jumpers when the defense is challenging him to knock them down. I’m curious how that compares to his rate converting drives/assists/getting to the free throw line when he takes that open space to attack with a head of steam. We all believe he should be choosing the latter but Inwonder what his actual results over time say.
Not at home, but I still do have access from work CPU.
Warrior history? Just last year? Or overall history (I think data goes back to 2017)
And when you say given room to shoot, do you mean open jumpers (3ft+ of space) or jumpers in general?
I’m curious about the open jumpers mostly but would be interested in overall as well

I know everyone loves lamelo but can he really be a number 1 option?

Thanks. Looks like a continuation of the change the league made for the 2020-21 season.

after seeing last night's game, I'm surprised his shooting percentages have been solid since he's been in the NBA. His shot is still ugly af and his shot selection is terrible.

Ball is pretty overrated on these boards and by NBA fans in general, imo. But I know I'm in the minority there.KevinMcreynolds wrote:Onus wrote:I know everyone loves lamelo but can he really be a number 1 option?

GPII has earned his spot. I was pretty ambivalent about who would get the last roster spot following preseason but they really nailed it. All of the vet bit players are really making a case for holding off the young guys so far.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Apparently Steph was sick last night and congested. So that's why he had such a poor game for him

Predictably a wide gap in efficiency in isolation jumpers (-0.2 PPP compared to driving in isolation), but when it's off the pass the drive/shot splits are almost equal (slight advantage to shot; +0.05 PPP). Only looked at last year though because they year prior was MIN/GS without Steph, so didnt feel like it would capture accurately
So in short, if Wiggins puts the ball on the ground or holds it for more than a second after catching it, he's better off driving. But for the first second after he catches the ball, you want him to get into shooters' motion because he's better at that, especially on the weakside of the court
All data used was with Wiggins "open to wide open" which is 3ft+ of space between him and closest defender
