All in all, I think if you told me we'd get #7 this year several months back before the season, I'd probably say that was reasonable and realistic.

Please, when the trade was made, Golden State fans were dreaming a top-5 pick. And since this upcoming draft is being billed as top-4 or -5, depending on your view of Kuminga, you've changed your expectations.

Wolves fan coming to the GS board to trash talk huh. You have no room to trash talk. You're a Wolves fan. Personally, I'm just happy the pick conveyed. Would have sucked for the Wolves to get a top 3 pick. I definitely think you guys are going to be mediocre next year and that isn't going to be a good pick for us.

Honestly, I'd rather the pick didn't convey than end up at #7 this year. Even with a Top Three pick, Minny will likely still be a cellar dweller next year. So, for instance, #7 next year with a chance to jump up into the Top Four would have been preferable to #7 this year.

Not really into anyone at #7, someone convince me there’s a good selection there

I'm not here to talk trash.

I simply find it interesting how your collective thoughts have changed since the trade was originally made. It went from being such a valuable asset -- remember the hypothetical trades attaching Minny's pick -- to hoping you can get a starter at No. 7. And now thrilled that you won't have to wait another year in fear of it being outside the top-10 picks.

It's either BPA or find a fit. I'd say we try to trade #7 and #14, but at what cost?

We're not a monolith. Some wanted it to convey this year, while others wanted it for next year.

But of course all of us wanted it to be a top 4/5 pick. And it's value throughout the year was based on it possibly being that. Now that we know where it's at, obviously it's not as valuable as it once was. But that's just how the process goes. So I don't see what angle you have here unless you're saying Warrior fans only thought the Wiggins trade was only valuable if we got a top 4 pick out of it. I disagree and I don't think there are many GS fans that said that.

I want Davion Mitchell. Learned the game in school, and hopefully don't have to teach him like Wiseman.

And Dubbs get a real pg unlike last year to help off the bench. Dubbs need more D at the pg spot off the bench too.

Is Mitchell better than any vet we can get in FA considering our limitations with money?

Surprisingly on the Wolves board they feel like they completely dict us somehow.

Traded the #7 to swap Wiggins for DLo and it’s a victory? Ok , sure. I mean if I were them I’d only be celebrating retaining a top 3 pick..

Anyways, still lots of options. I’d expect us to make both picks. Dream still remains Moody + a trade for Boucher. A real effort to win now

Drafting a backup / 6th man with a mid lotto pick seems really dicey to me

I can only hope with any draft picks.

But which backup pg can play both ends for the money Dubbs can pay? That is the real question.

I agree with this. But then comes the question, who exactly can we sign? Is gambling on Mitchell and Poole okay as long as we have some trustworthy who we get in FA.

FNQ wrote:The one drawback I have on Moody, and its frustrating, is that every time he's going to take a shot, he moves the ball down to get into a rhythm, and you cant tell on yourself in the NBA. It tells the defender to go all out to block the jumper, and Moody wasnt the type to pump fake and drive much

but the rest?

I agree. They say his advanced stats state he struggles with contact. That being said he is definitely a 3d guy. With klay saying he won't be full strength come start of season and his long wingspan with range, I think he is the pick. Especially if he can play some small forward.
They comp him to Glen Rice. Who I will take

I’m cool with Jalen Johnson and Wagner/Giddey.

I think JJ will be a better pro than a college player.

I would be fine with Moody at 7 and Jalen Johnson at 14

Return to Golden State Warriors
