I don't know, man.. But, looks to me that with the addition of McGee, we'd have both our interior defense AND perimeter defense covered.

Those were a long time ago.

Any clips from last year with the Mavs?

Still think McGee would be a decent pickup, he would do better against Thompson, Jordan, and Gasol then Varejao or a rookie.

Some of these free agents must be holding out for waivers, trades, injuries because I still see some decent pickups. I would think we would utilize our full 15 man considering Looney and Jones are out.

I think we need a 2/3 or a 3/4 as that 15th guy.
Here's a list of guys (that weren't in the league) i'd like to see invited to training camp to compete for that last spot. With these guys mix in some more proven NBA talent like, i don't know, Kevin Martin or someone.

Perry Jones 3 - F. Think he's recovered from his injury. I'd like to see what he can do for us.

Earl Clark - F. I thought he'd be an NBA player, maybe he's ready now?

Really long shots -
Dominique Sutton - G/F. Did well for the SCW few years ago. Also looked good in Summer League last year. Not a good shooter, but defends well and is a high energy / high athleticism guy.

Darington Hobson - G/F. Looks solid for SCW. He kinda reminds me of Livingston (but at the D League level) so probably not NBA caliber, but i'd like to give him a look just in case.

I would be shocked if we signed McGee. Warriors are all about smart basketball.

Guess we can't have all the smartest players on a team, Left*MY*Heart. As I predicted, they went out and signed him (Not sure if that's the case as we're loaded with players in at the PF/C). Still need a scorer off the bench. Kevin Martin?

Yeah, its a make good deal, so its up to McGee to make good on this. He has all the talent in the world, but has huge brain farts. I'm not sure if McGee's contract takes a roster spot, but if it does, he is our 15th player under contract, which means no Martin.

Teams can have 20 or 21 players under contract in training camp, they just need to get down to 15 by opening day. If the Warriors attract somebody who is going to contribute well, I don't think they'd hesitate to just cut McAdoo or Varejao. And likewise, McGee isn't on any kind of a guaranteed contract at this point, if he earns a spot on the roster in training camp, then he'll be signed to a contract for the season. (And the Warriors could always offer him a contract which doesn't become guaranteed until some point after the season starts.)

Having the current contracts doesn't really limit us from talking to or bringing in other guys who might be available on minimum contracts....

Be interesting if Okafor could beat out a few guys of the current crop of bigs for a spot.

I'd definitely go for a young Okafor.... But the question is obviously "what does a 34-year old Okafor who has had significant injuries and off-time have left"?

His calling card was always defense.... Have to wonder if he still has the ability to defend at a level close to what he had when he was younger....

Did he live up to being drafted so high?

No All-Star games right? Was on losing teams so doesn't seem like he made much of a difference.

Is he an improvement over what we have? For minimum salary, the expectation of getting a difference-maker might be unrealistic. "Better than what we have for the role that's available" seems to be a better target.

If Okafor is healthy, he would be a great pickup for us. I like him a lot better than McGee.

No one's talking about him (And maybe rightfully so), but maybe we can give Josh "J-Smoove" Smith a look? Get camp invite the same way McGee?

Carl Landry anyone? He's a bit redundant with West, but a proven Warrior in the past. Definitely better than McAdoo if the cost is low. I'd do it, because I love depth.

McGee (cheap) is a decent risk. Festus was no Tim Duncan fundamentals guy but did fill a niche. Jones might yet top that but McGee may grow from GSW's team play thing.. good coaching, great team mates. Imagine if he becomes the guy he seemed ABLE to be? We have to roll them dice. McGee won't always play it smart but he CAN do things Zaza never will. And so we will give it a chance.
CENSORED... No comment.

Yeah I like Landry, seemed like a real pro, tough guy as well. A little undersized, but could be a real nice piece if cop any front court injuries.

There are rumors of Kevin Garnett working on a buyout. If that's true and he's not retiring, he could ring chase with the Warriors.
