Why is it only CP3's injury matters and not Iguodala's in last year's playoff series? If Iguodala hadn't gone down after three games, that series wouldn't have extended past game #5 or #6, regardless of whether CP3 was still available.

Why would they have automatically won if Paul had played anyway? They would have suddenly made all those 3 point shots they missed? It's easy to say they would have won, if only...

If you bring up Paul's injury as a factor, you have to bring Iggy in too... Ig plays a lot less minutes than Paul, but he helps stabilize things like nobody's business..

as far as I'm concerned, with both cp0 and iggy able to play, the series was 2-1 for the warriors with a pretty easy win in game1 and a blowout in game 3.

A couple seasons back they claimed they lost because pat Bev was hurt. That’s alway been their mentality of clutch city. The next season they became an 8th seed.

Last season they blamed on cp3’s hamstring. Look where they are at now.

One thing consisten about the clutch city is that they never look into the mirror when they fail.

The Houston series was never as close as it looked. CP3 has an out of his mind hot/lucky/clutch 5 minutes hitting shots we would gladly live with him taking. If those shots rattle out per the percentages, we would have won in 5

The problem Houston will continue to have is they don’t have the tools to get stops. Playoff games are decided largely by the possession battle, not the regular season long PER numbers. We had/have the tools to get stops, Houston didn’t. And last year, KD was absolutely one of those tools. He was a legit DPOY candidate last year and maybe our best interior defender in the playoffs. Aside fromt Steph’a one bad finals game, KD’s defensive contribution was a big part of his Finals MVP argument. This year, his defense had been frequently crap, I blame his spat with Draymond for a big part of that. He’s tuned out our defensive QB this year and it shows. Hopefully he gets it back in gear by the finals this year or Giannis/Embid will eat our lunch inside.

Yet they are 3-0 against the Warriors this season, with CP3 and Harden each missing at least one of those games.

Mitchell Robinson is going to be an all-star and DPOY someday. Kyrie/Durant/Mitch is a strong core to build around.

As long as there are only 6 fouls allowed in a game, Robinson has some ways to go. But he's definitely impactful, he just needs some seasoning. He'd do well with the Knicks signing a smart big-man to teach him the ropes. I dunno what Bogut's up to these days, but bringing him in as a coach or end of bench player/coach would be a solid idea. That guy was a defensive QB and the BBIQ is what Robinson needs to truly be elite.

Better be a fast build then. KD will be 31 in September.

Is he going to have to wait a couple of years for the Knicks youth, assuming they retain all of them, to be good enough to turn the Knicks into a title contender?

KD, Kyrie and AD will make for a strong team. Lets say 55-60 wins next season if they can get them all together. That's assuming Boston falls back to around 45-50 wins and Toronto loses Kawhi and falls to around 50 wins and Bucks fall back as well, because they lose some rotation players.

It hard to say where the West will be. Warriors will fall back so maybe Denver is as strong or stronger, OKC is about the same (though WB may be declining already).

Harden's point per 100 possessions is lower when Iguodala's guarding him than anyone else in the NBA.

So the no CP3 in game 6 and 7 excuse can eat a dick.

I'll go...

20% Clippers
20% Dallas
60% Dubs
0% Knicks

I don't see any stars wanting to sign up to play for Dolan/Mills/Perry.

I'd really be surprised if he'd go to a team which couldn't sign Kyrie or some other max player at the same time.

I doubt he wants to give up all chances to compete for a title. He's not getting any younger so what's he going to do now, try to emulate Harden and try to maximize individual stats?

In that case, sure he'd have to dominate usage. But he isn't going to be able to do that at Dallas and I would think the Clippers and Knicks would both want to sign two max players, not just one.

I don't know if you can say the Warriors have a better chance than other teams to have him next season and beyond. Unless things change by the end of the season, he seems pretty alienated from the rest of the team. I guess he talks to other people at half time instead of being in the locker room with the rest of the team.

I wonder if there were signs like this his last season at OKC. But the fact that he didn't sign an extension and then after the season he held all these pitch meetings certainly were tip-offs that he was leaving.

Maybe he was more pissed off from the parade than we thought at the time.

Luka, KP, and Durant is enough to win it all. Clippers can sign him and another max.

I think a lot will change after the season plays out though. For example, whether we win it all or not will obviously matter. Also, if Toronto or Boston make it to the finals or get bounced in the 1st/2nd round will obviously influence Kawhi or Kyrie one way or the other as well. That's why speculation is pretty much pointless this far in advance.

Dallas is a really interesting possibility I hadn't considered. No idea if they can do it financially but those 3 together are downright scary.

KD is not going to go from the Bay to a smaller market

Not playing on the second game of a back to back.

But doesn’t seem to be on the bench?

Guess the “strength in numbers” or “being a good teammate” is too corny for him?
