The players from GSW can be manipulated

Kevin Looney, Gary Payton, and Kyle Anderson in particular.

The Warriors receive a big that can shoot and a 40% from 3pt shooting guard.

Lol Heat would cream themselves if Butler had this kind of value.

At this point, they’d be lucky to get Beal straight up. Looping the Dubs in to rob us of all assets and assist the Suns in getting Jimmy? They can keep dreamin and creamin.

Hields minutes go to Moody and Podz. Andersons minutes go to Kuminga and Santos. Poole replaces Schroeder since he's a better fit offensively.

Poole might hate Dray but he gets to decide if he hates losing more.

C Looney, Post, TJD
PF Green, Kuminga, Santos
SF Wiggins, Moody, Waters
SG Poole, GP2, Spencer
PG Curry, Podz

Well, that won't be a problem if Draymond isn't on the Warriors....but then we probably don't want Poole's lack of defense on a team without Draymond.

Any chance the Dubs can call up Charlotte and get Knect & Reddish? May just have to get rid of Moody and possible second-round draft compensation to get them.

They just gave up their high potential 23 year old center who was averaging 16/10 on the season for Knecht. That boy ain’t going anywhere lol.

Going on record here: Warriors will trade Draymond Green and an extended Kuminga (new contract) for Kevin Durant over the summer. This was the ONLY way Kevin and Bulter could end up playing together.
Curry, Durant, Butler - Book it.

even if it worked financially, it's pointless to even think about such a trade with a GM like dumbleavy.

:noway:

Folks got to quit lying to themselves that the Warriors are only a Draymond away from Durant wanting to come back. They’re not.

I would bet, on the list of reasons, Draymond might not even make top 3 ahead of Kerr and his system, KD always dealing with the fact he joined a 73 win team (anyone remember Fitz and Myers clowning after the second championship parade and KDs reaction?) and the, as Bill Simmons teased on his pod today, the possibility of some lingering feelings about how that 2019 went down with coming back and blowing out his Achilles

I think it's clear the #1 reason is the legacy stuff -- all the noise about him on the Warriors and him not getting credit for winning will forever bother him. He saw the credit Steph got for 2022, all the validation -- and he wants the same. He doesn't think he'll ever get that coming back to the Warriors, so what is the point?

Draymond and Steve's system are minuses for him, but I really think legacy is the big deal. He's known as the online basketball player who has burners and argues with people... of course it's his legacy. Imagine how knee deep in these discussions he's been.

I don't really buy the Finals injury stuff, that was more pushed by the people who don't like the Warriors. KD has never said a single word about being mad at the Warriors for getting injured.

His legacy is pretty much set. He still produces great numbers but at his age, it's unlikely that he will be the main guy in a championship team.

So if he ring-chases, like get himself traded to OKC or Cleveland, the old cupcake accusations will re-surface.

Now he' can't stay with Phoenix either since it's not working and they tried to trade him.

Supposedly he and Curry spoke before he vetoed the trade.

I'm actually glad the trade didn't go through because the Warriors would have had to send out far more assets, more FRPs and probably Kuminga.

They can empty the cupboard but I'm not sure 36-year old KD, who would at best be ambivalent about coming back is the right choice.

Yeah, and I'm not convinced KD is better than Jimmy (playoff Jimmy, anyway) at this stage

tbh in a vacuum jimmy is the best option, however being able to keep wiggins probably tops that. But yea giving PG a full max extension would've been insane.

He wouldn’t get much of a negative reaction at this point in time imo, but this would be because he, Butler and Curry are old and wouldn’t be expected to win as would have been the case in years past. I don’t know that he could be expected to make as strong a defensive contribution as when he was with GSW previously.

I would have some resentment in regard to the injury were I him, he was played too many minutes, some of them at Center, in the regular season as I and others posted at the time. Iirc there was also a narrative that there wasn’t much risk of him rupturing the tendon if he played, so it would be understandable if he was reluctant to put himself in the hands of the GSW medical staff again 6 years on.

I agree Draymond wouldn’t be much of an issue, that was all about Dray not getting a new contract until KD announced his decision, having already decided to leave imo.

Miami showing interest in simons to pair with herro and bam.

Jk wants to get paid, but isn't meshing with steph/jimmy/dray in what could be their last push to a chip.

Simons to the Heat
Kuminga S&T to the Blazers
Wiggins to the warriors (he can return just as long as it isnt in the same season).
