How much would you be willing to pay Oubre next season and beyond?

If he keeps playing well he'll command 20m+ on the open market. That's what Jeremi Grant got.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

The money situation is a puzzle for sure. Oubre's worth at least $20mil per season so I guess I just hope Lacob tells Myers money is no object and we sign him to something like 4/$80mil.

If Klay is able to resume his previous level of play, they don't need as much touches from KO. You would hope players are rotating the ball to Klay more than KO.

But Klay may not be able to do that until at least next March or April.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Some of you want to keep Oubre?

I'm still all about trading him and happy he's playing well. He's should get us some delicious offers.

One thing that concerns me is, assuming Oubre isn't in the starting lineup, how good will he be playing with the bench mob? He's not going to be getting nearly as many open looks and interior passes when Steph and Draymond and Klay are off the floor. I have to believe his stats will revert to some extent.

Personally I feel like we could get a couple quality vets for the bench (maybe not as flashy but probably steadier) for what it will cost to retain Oubre. Not sure what the trade market is for him but some teams will probably be interested based on his recent play.

Yeah I don't think Oubre has much value to us past the deadline. Best case scenario is he keeps playing pretty well, helps win some games and then nets a nice return in a month.

Looks like the cost of acquiring Oubre will be a 2022 second-round draft pick. What a steal!

Oubre will re-sign with the Warriors. Would be incredibly stupid to trade him, unless its in a package to get a superstar, because otherwise it's hard to replace his contributions.

Those KCP 1-yr deals if we do decide to keep him.

I don’t mind letting him go if we cannot agree on a number.

Why would he stay with Warriors? He can go elsewhere and get featured, play starter minutes and probably get paid more to boot.

Literally no good reason to stay.

So do you have him starting over Wiggins or Klay next year?

Neither. He is 6th man and probably the replacement for Draymond eventually. Klay probably isn't going to play heavy minutes next year too

Hard to know what Oubre might want. First, no one knows what Klay will be like or when he'll be back to normal, if ever. And if the Warriors make a better offer than other teams, Oubre might be happy to be a super sub coming off the bench.

But it's all contingent on how he looks for the rest of the season. Not long ago pretty much everyone wanted to get rid of him, witness the title of this thread. In another month that might be the sentiment again. There's still a long way to go before any decisions can be made.

He’s not going to sign for 6th man money if he can get starter money elsewhere. We are not marrying ourselves to a low IQ wing at starters money if the mission is to max out Steph’s window in this system. I know it’s heartbreaking for the highlight dunks y’all crowd, but this dude ain’t for us. Never was. He was signed to preserve salary shelf space. That’s all it ever was.

I think oubre is a better sf/pf than wing right now. I think he takes more draymond minutes than klay or wiggins minutes if he re-signs.

yeah I think Oubre will be someone we are unable to keep next season. But if he has a good playoffs he'll get a nice payday somewhere.

Can the Warriors sign and trade in the free agency period or is that impossible because of the cap situation?

Then the only way to use his salary slot next season is to make a trade.

If they just let him walk without getting anything back, then payroll is the driving factor in the decision.

I'm pretty certain that we could use him in a sign and trade, but we couldn't combine him with any other assets in the process. Also it would require the team he wants to sign with being willing to play ball when they could just sign Oubre outright and not give up any assets in return. Basically things would need to line up perfectly.

The only thing I'm pretty darn sure of is that some team is going to really regret giving KO like 80 million dollars this summer and I'm quite happy that it's unlikely to be us.
