After tonight, I can see why Pietrus would be frustrated at being forced to play all his minutes at PF. When he's playing SF, he's clearly more comfortable and confident; plus, he doesn't have to man-up against people 4 inches taller and 30 pounds heavier.

SF PIETRUS FTW!

Best game Nellie's coached all damn season.

Nellie did several things wrong in this game:

- Ellis guarding Ray Allen; Baron guarding Rondo
- taking out Biedrins on defense and plugging in Buke with 1 min to go and all our TOs still available
- plugging Barnes in at the end of the game

Now that that's out of the way...

- Nellie ditched smallball, and we not only dominated the rebounding, but we kept the C's out of the paint for the most part.
- Pietrus had his best game to date, playing only at SF and staying out of the way on offense.
- Monta's evolution as a PG is nearly complete. The guy was getting doubled every time he touched the ball, they took away his ability to fast break, and he still found a way to score 24 and was dishing the ball like no one's business
- Andris is a pimp, plain and simple

This is the first time of the season I'm legitimately excited about the team for the rest of the season... the next 3 days will tell us a lot, and I can't wait...

Man, playoff atmosphere in a regular season game. Imagine if all those people in the Oracle were wearing yellow "We Believe" shirts.

if pietrus doesn't get traded tomorrow, nellie should play him as jack's backup at the 3 ONLY. espec with webber starting to adjust (nice high low thing going with him and beans too) i think nellie has more flexibility to play petey naturally.

Listen to LF510 change his tune. Funny stuff. All of a sudden he trusts Nelsons decisions? Heh. You guys don't deserve this win.

Anyway, that was one hell of a basketball game. I'm not saying one critical thing about this team tonight. Division Title or bust!

Ellis guarding anyone is a mistake, unfortunately. Worst defender on the team. Thank god his offensive skills make up for it and then some. Hope he learns to play some D and fast as he's getting the keys to the team soon.

 We don't deserve this win... Nellie just did what we've been screaming at the top of our lungs all season...

Now Tay's the worst defender on the team... oh Vaki... your negativity shines through

(Psst. When Nellie switched Tay onto Rondo in the 3rd Q, he kept Rondo in front of him the entire time... and then funneled him right into Biedrins.. a thing of beauty)

I can't believe that scrub Ray Allen went off on Tay... Tay just kept giving him a little daylight... what average NBA defender could be guilty of such a thing? Thank God we had Buke to come in as a defender at the end of the game :D

Orly? I didn't see O'Bryant or Wright play a single minute. Hmm.

...more biased Ellis ass kissing...

The thing is, I love Ellis, but I can be objective about his game. Why can't you?

Yes, Yes and Yes. I still say that's the best game he's coached all season. I didn't say he didn't make any mistakes though did I? lol.

Man, some people here are busy stroking their dingalings while going back-and-forth.

Can't we all just cuddle and watch The Golden Girls?

The premise of playing Wright/POB is to get bigger. The whole argument of disliking Nellie isn't playing rookies, its playing a traditional style of basketball and dropping the gimmick. Those 2 players are not gimmick players... Wright would have definitely fit in with the team tonight. POB... probably not. He needs a lot more TLC then Wright does.

See the game thread about Tay... I'll dog him worse than anyone here during the games...

But you can obviously tell you either a) just look at box scores or B. see what you want to.

He started by giving Ray Allen some daylight on shots because he was more focused on help D... he still closed out very well but with Ray Allen, you need to be in his face while hes setting up for the shot.

So then he completely ignored help D and focused on Ray... Ray didn't do anything then. They then start setting double screens and backdoor screens on Tay... 3 straight scoring possessions, Tay was screened and there was no help from Webb or Harrington... (Ray was at 27 pts at the time)

Then Allen went out, Tay switched to Rondo/House/Posey and never left those 3 after that... Tay played great D on them and became way more active in help defense, and forced several 4th Q turnovers, 2 of them resulted in steals.

But apparently that makes him our worst defender. If you are truly objective, then maybe its just lack of basketball knowledge. But I dont think you are completely clueless... so I'm gonna go ahead and say this is just a pride remnant from your earlier swing n miss on Tay / Buke.

Simple criticisms... I mean if you make only 3 mistakes as a coach, all game, that's a damn fine job...

Like I said earlier, outside of the Allen/Tay defensive screw up, I thought Nellie coached perfectly for 47 minutes... I have no idea what he was thinking when he pulled Beans with a minute to go for Buke when we were on the FT line though. We had 3 timeouts... as soon as we get the ball we can call TO and switch Beans out for offense... :dontknow:

not sure it's been mentioned, but Monta lead the team w/ 9 assists with a bunch of them into AB15. They always talk about scoring and shooting pct, but he seems to still of had a solid game.

sorry, but i must admit i don't think Monta's defense is very good either and i think he's actually the worst defender in the starting line-up.
don't get me wrong. i love ellis and haven't said a negative thing about him ever before. his offense more than makes up for his defensive struggles and i have total faith he'll pick up his defense in time and when it matches his offense, WOW. look out!

anyways this game was AMAZING!!!
i got a free ticket center court, row 3. Sweet!
best seats i've ever had and one of the best games i've been to.
great night. great crowd. couldn't have asked for more.

I am soooooo pissed. :nonono:

WTF is Nellie thinking?

No Wright, no POB... is it too much to ask for 10 MPG development for our future?!

Waaaay too much Webber, too much Croshere. The ONLY reason he went with a traditional lineup is because Jackson was out and he doesn't trust out young bigs. :nonono:

Seriously, when will people realize that this team is a joke and NELLIE SHOULD BE FIRED?!
