Actually, yes, sadly. The very real downside of being a mod is I have to read this stuff, no matter how tiresome.

KD had nothing but praise for Klay and Steph in one of his recent pods/interviews. You hear him talk about them like that and it's clearly he is far from having his mind made already. He will decide in FA and anything can happen. Let's just enjoy the beautiful basketball they are playing at the moment.

Still say there’s no chance he goes to the Knicks. Even someone as insecure as KD can’t possibly choose to go from one of the best teams in history to the worst organization in the NBA. Brooklyn wouldn’t be a bad move though, although he’d be going from winning the ‘ship every year to never winning it again. Good luck with that brah

That Ric guy must have read my thread....geez....he stole it lol...

After he leaves elsewhere, I hope he does not ever win a title again.....I don't want him to tied with Steph's # of title.

We need a defender to shut him down...

Ric Bucher is known for throwing ess against the wall.

I guarantee he doesn't get a Christmas card from KD now.

Why the hate?

We won two titles with him, possibly the third this year.

I will root for him even if he leaves, i really hope he won’t go to the knicks, i dislike everything about that team and fanbase( a lot of them at least)

My reaction to the Bucher article:
it's a matter of, 'Where can I go and I can get this done? I can be the centerpiece and I'm going to be unbelievably appreciated.' I can tell you one place: The New York Knicks, the New York Knicks' fans, Madison Square Garden. If he so much as takes them into the conference finals, for as much as they have not done for the past multiple decades, he will be beloved there like he never has been at Golden State after winning two championships.

I guess it really depends what "get this done" means. Because the Knicks really suck. I love KD. I think he's an incredible player. But I don't think there is any way in hell you take the worst team in the league, add him, and end up in the conference finals. If you're lucky maybe you squeak into the playoffs and get run. Sure, we could speculate about how they get the #1, draft Zion, he lands full speed, and they also sign Kyrie or something. Sure, then they'd be interesting enough to at least compete. But that's a lot of if's.

I have a question to senior capalogists.
If KD leaves, can Dubs get some trade exception or some SnT (from that team) to sign Boogie to a bigger deal than an exception?

You cannot use trade exceptions to sign people, I believe is the answer to your question.

How many defenders in the league can shut down KD? Of that number, how many can we afford? I'd be surprised if that number is greater than 0.

Correct. Traded Player Exceptions can only be used to acquire a player via trade or off the waiver wire. They can also be used to acquire a player in a S&T deal, but doing that would cap a team receiving such a player at the apron. Zero chance the Warriors would be able to stay under the apron for 2019-20 under such a scenario.

Two drama queens like KD and Kyrie playing for a trash owner like Dolan. Yeah that’ll work out well
