Unlikely. Wanamaker is experienced coverage for playoffs. I think the real plan is for him to take the spot next year. While getting him some PT this year.

I'm torn. I get the Wanamaker thing and he can objectively run an offense. However, I really like Mannion in the super limited PT we've seen him. I do think we see him get more time, but that second unit is so bad on O that he will only get that if he can score and stripe it from 3.

So we're keeping Wanamaker.. for the playoffs? Look I dont think getting curb-stomped in the playoffs is going to be all that illuminating for Wiseman, just as much as I dont think keeping Wanamaker for the playoffs is in any way useful. You kinda lose the "I've been here before" cred when you are playing your way out of the league

I'm done with Wannamaker. The guy can't hit a wide open jumper OR create and dish. What the hell is that good for? And we don't need a good defensive point guard from the bench.

Give anyone those minutes...please.

btw...Oubre out with hand sprain? ;) I can only hope Warriors have something going on....because this team may not even make the playoffs at this rate.

I don't really see how Wanamaker runs an offense. He makes decent passes keeping the ball moving at the top of the key, but that's it. I really think that Baze can do that in the same role since it's not like Wanamker is creating shots for himself or others as an initator.

I also don't really see what the appeal is of Mannion. He can pass, but I don't see much that shows an ability to get clean looks off against NBA level athletes.

Yeh, that's a good point. May make the most sense to use Brad as a 10 game bridge to getting Nico comfortable enough for ~15 mpg. I think he could do it right now, but I'm a bit scarred from Poole year one where we force fed him minutes and he face planted over and over.

I've heard this a lot on the radio and on Twitter...are people here keen on Poole as a backup 1? Can he even do that? I'm gonna be real, I shut off the warriors end of last season where Poole started performing better, but apparently he showed more ball handling/distro skills in that time?

I can't really disagree with you, ha. Baze IMO is very underrated as a ball handler and I hold the exact same concern on Mannion. I like his vision and mentality, but can he actually score at this level? 0 clue.

The one thing about Nico I like is that he’s a true point guard. The roster doesn’t currently have that guy except him.

Nico is a winner and a dog on the court. Watched his highlights throughout his senior year in HS and he's going to be good. Has vision to create but can also score and close games. his speed will improve I hope

Winner in the locker room, dog on the court...but what is he in the streets or the sheets?

These are the debates we need to have instead of Wiseman v. LaMelo.

Is this the Wanamaker thread or the trade Oubre thread?

Kawakami wrote for the Athletic that the worst Warriors five-man lineup includes Wiseman and Wiggins, and since Wiseman needs to get more PT (for offensive reasons as well as development), Bazemore should replace Wiggins for most of the minutes with the starters: Stephen/Baze/Oubre/Dray/Wiseman. Apparently playing alongside Wiggins is kryptonite for Wiseman.

A legit chess move by Myers would be to trade Oubre's expiring deal to Boston for Aaron Nesmith, who is on a rookie deal and under team control for another six years. Boston needs wing scoring in a bad way, they have a huge trade exception, and they are trying to win immediately. If the Warriors could get Nesmith legit minutes the rest of the season (something Boston hasn't been willing to do), he could be ready to be a huge contributor off the bench spelling Klay next season. He is shooting 44% from 3 over his last 13 games after a tough start to the season, has shown really good athleticism & is playing solid defense. The combination of Wiseman, Nesmith & the Minnesota Pick has the potential to be the core of a new generation of Warriors basketball and wouldn't require a huge rebuild. This seems to be the approach the FO wants to take, and who can blame them after 20+ years of miserable seasons.

As much as other posters love Wiseman, I'd do that trade just to see their heads explode after 10 games of Nesmith throwing up 4 and 2 with a spicy 55% TS.

Why would anyone dislike/not love Wiseman ?.

You can make an argument that drafting him was not the best move from a win now perspective as some are, but what has that got to do with him personally ?.

I still think he will be great. If he is tradable for a significant difference maker it will be because other teams share this view.

Curry/Klay/Oubre/Draymond/Wiseman - I think I like it.

If Lonzo is available from the Pels and they have interest in Oubre that is a move I would like to see the Warriors make. I think Lonzo would be a better fit moving forward and he would provide a second playmaker the team needs.

I also think that it would help Wiggins as his production on the offensive side to a dip when they flipped him and Oubre in the rotation and Lonzo would be better leading that second unit.
