I may be the last person on Lonzo island, but man I love watching him play. He would be amazing as a bench facilitator/defender.

Oubre for Lonzo is not a trade I would do. And I'm a UCLA Bruins fan where Lonzo played in college. I'm not huge on Oubre, but Warriors can get a better asset than that. My opinion.

Lonzo is shooting himself out of the Warriors price range. He'll get some hefty offers this summer as a RFA.

I think the issue becomes we have to sign Oubre long term if we want to get more than 10 cents on the dollar for him. Or sign and trade in offseason. Those generally don't get much, but we are obviously the team that got a big haul for a S&T Durant when we should have gotten basically nothing - so who knows.

Lonzo is the better player by far.
Better shooter, better playmaker, better defender, higher bbiq. He's basically better at everything, but dunking.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
If we aren't going to trade Oubre for a 2 year deal - or if Lacob has finally reached his spending limit - I have no idea how one could prefer Oubre to Lonzo..
and I dont even like Lonzo that much, but he at least has a BBIQ that he couldnt count on his fingers and toes
However if we can get a better asset.. sure, why not? Hard to argue with that.. I dont think Oubre is a fatally flawed player in the NBA like Wiggins likely is, but he certainly isnt going to be a good player with us, on a good team.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
I think Oubre could be a good player when we're a good team - but the salary:production ratio would be awful. ~19m for a lesser version of what we see now and likely more inconsistency seems likely, and that is of course not palatable.
If we're trading Oubre we should be looking for a guy that we can control (wow that sounds bad) for at least 2 seasons. QO then RFA for Lonzo over the next two years fits the bill. And say what you will about him, but I think he's an incredibly smart player and gifted passer with the size to be an impact defender. Most importantly, he gives us a ton of flexibility. He can slide in next to Klay for a jumbo lineup, he could run point with Curry off ball or he can just lead that second unit with pick and roll offense - which would also allow us to pick up a more diminutive all-offense player to provide some scoring punch off the bench (which are easier to find than a 6'6" scorer or a floor general who can shoot).
His height and IQ just open up so many possibilities for us. I feel he's having too good a season to pry away for Oubre (who they'd immediately need to sign to at least a 3+1 over 15m per) if I'm being honest.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Only possibility is that Pels fall out of playoff contention.
Zo has been playing well but the Pels are 4-6 and lost 2 games going into the all star break.
If the owners and front office are leery about giving him a big extension and they still fail to make the playoffs, they may look to move him.
Or maybe they will package him with someone like Adams because of his contract.
If the Kings fall off as well -- they're 2-8 in the last 10 games -- they may want to get rid of contracts. They most want to get rid of Hield's contract and then probably Bjelica. Maybe move BAgley too, before they have to pay him.
But I think some savvy GM is going to swoop in and get Harrison. Celtics might be a candidate, as they have a trade exception.

Warriors do not want marginal, ball dominant players. Do you not understand the Warriors offense at all?

I think he would be a better fit than Oubre as he could facilitate the offense when Draymond and Curry are off the floor. I also think he would play well with Curry and would be great at getting Wiseman the ball in better spots than most of the players on our team who seem to miss him when he is open and then throw it at his feet in traffic.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
I do like Oubre and feel he's gotten alot better and has the right mindset for the Dubs. but the team does need a secondary ball handler to come off the bench ala Iggy. Ball is an interesting option but I'm not sure he'd want to come off the bench for the dubs so even if the Dubs traded for him, I don't think theyd' be able to re-sign him while I do believe Oubre would consider staying here as long as he gets paid.

Yes, Lonzo is a guy who naturally feels like he needs the ball in his hands, and he's not comfortable playing off the ball. Warriors are not a good fit for traditional point guards - look at who our assist leader is. In the Warriors offense the ball can't stop, everyone needs to touch it and then move it on.
Oubre is a great fit for the Warriors as a long wing player who can switch and guard multiple positions, and pick up his points within the flow of the offense. They'll both be free agents this summer but Oubre is a much better fit for the Warriors in my estimation.

Didn't the Warriors already turn down a trade for Lonzo?

I have read a few Jazz fans talking about trading Bojan. Would you guys do a Kelly for Bojan trade? Has two more years after this year. Jazz need a wing defender like Kelly.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
If the Warriors are going to keep the Minnesota draft pick trading Oubre to a tram with cap space for a future 1st rounder would be ideal. It'd create a roster spot for the lottery pick as well as allowing, for now, some of the current bench guys to play. Pascall looks even better and they can trade him in some package for a very good player.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Umm....Twinkie isn’t watching the Pelicans because Lonzo is not ball dominant and they run a motion heavy offense as well. They pass the ball very well.
Lonzo is a spot up shooter a lot, but he’s also a great passer, which works well in their motion offense. And he’s great in transition.

If oubre get traded we will have is clone in bazemore. Those 2 play exactly the same way for better or worse.

Lonzo is a great fit as a backup PG here, but he’s expiring just like Oubre and probably won’t re-sign to be a backup. I wish that it fit better but it doesn’t.
