Looks like we have a QO for Q Weatherspoon for the 2-way spot, as of right now. We can rescind it mid-July if we want. It will depend on Q's play in the summer league.

It's looks like we'll also be holding open the 15th roster spot. There's room for Weatherspoon, Quinones AND Santos...At least until the trade deadline.

I think they intended to not use the 15th spot last year either. GP2 just made too strong a case.

GP2's defense during the 21-0 run in Game 6 is something I'll never forget. :D

Yeah, but they signed GP2 to a non-guaranteed contract, giving him until January to make his case. They could do the same with the 15th spot this year, if there is someone they think has the same chance.

Do we have a confirmed height on this guy? Standing next to Steph, no way that Santos looks 6'8" More like 6'6"

Did you watch the summer league games? He looks as tall as Kuminga and seems to be taller than Moody. Maybe slightly taller than Kuminga.

IIRC Myers said the plan was to hold the 15th spot open for the buyout market to fill a need based on injuries. Last year they would have had to cut someone at full pay to take a player on the market, and it certainly seems the NBA owners really don't like it when the Warriors seem to not care about money.

Honestly I think the route to adding that 15th player before the season would be Gui being good enough they use a roster spot on him, and add a couple vets.

The point about a non-guaranteed contract is that if they don't work out they can cut them by January and have an open spot for the buyout market.

Gui might be the 13th spot.

Active hands on defense. Nice hustle at the 2:57 mark.

Would really like to know more about the draft night trade that was supposed to send Santos to the Bucks. Which team pulled out? Either way, makes the end result all the sweeter.

I think Shams said it was just a clerical error. The Bucks were trading for 58 not 55, then the Warriors selected Santos and it just came out as Bucks for Santos in error.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Can Gui be signed to a 2-way if the Warriors need to buy him out of his current contract?

(This is the real Gooey thread) :)

Not if they have to buy him out, then it would have to be a roster spot (CBA rule.) I saw on a different site that he had an opt-out, in which case there would be no buy out and he could be signed to a two-way. I haven't seen that confirmed, though, although the source seemed knowledgeable.

That would be awesome. I want him on one of those two ways yesterday.

Okay, that's what I thought. (I didn't know he had an opt out ... if he does)
