It's looks like we'll also be holding open the 15th roster spot. There's room for Weatherspoon, Quinones AND Santos...At least until the trade deadline.

I think they intended to not use the 15th spot last year either. GP2 just made too strong a case.

Yeah, but they signed GP2 to a non-guaranteed contract, giving him until January to make his case. They could do the same with the 15th spot this year, if there is someone they think has the same chance.

IIRC Myers said the plan was to hold the 15th spot open for the buyout market to fill a need based on injuries. Last year they would have had to cut someone at full pay to take a player on the market, and it certainly seems the NBA owners really don't like it when the Warriors seem to not care about money.
Honestly I think the route to adding that 15th player before the season would be Gui being good enough they use a roster spot on him, and add a couple vets.

I think Shams said it was just a clerical error. The Bucks were trading for 58 not 55, then the Warriors selected Santos and it just came out as Bucks for Santos in error.

Not if they have to buy him out, then it would have to be a roster spot (CBA rule.) I saw on a different site that he had an opt-out, in which case there would be no buy out and he could be signed to a two-way. I haven't seen that confirmed, though, although the source seemed knowledgeable.
