NBC sports claims he was left off the sl roster cause the trade still needs to be finalized
CBS sports reports he is being held out of the sl cause of a minor leg injury

I just watched this today and thought the same thing. Well-spoken player who knows his skill set and his situation. Talks a lot about his 3point shooting as being a factor. He was pretty natural on the mic and was cool to hear his answers.

Re: Quinten Post
We get a true big who will probably get heavier as he ages.
And he is an outside shooter.
So we get a big guy and a stretch 5 in the same player.
So he can’t jump and block shots and is slow but we have Tryayce for blocking shots and being a fast center.

Yes. Very nice but I have to remember that most 2nd round picks fail to make it in the NBA. Hopefully Post will be as good at what he is good at as Trayce is good at what he is good at and then we will have a good one two punch at future center with contrasting styles. Post does not have the college experience that Trayce had and should not be such a good rookie as Trayce was.

You're worried about a center being too slow?

ah bummer.. I really hope he's a 2 way. Dont think he's gonna amount to much unless the 3pt shot is going off. Tough to be a big, slower body that's going to have a tough time finishing at the rim

Everybody is faster than Saric but Saric knew what he was doing.
A rookie 2nd round pick only slightly faster than Saric may never get the experience he needs to learn how to compensate for being slow.
Truly big guys like Quinten Post who can also shoot 3s are rare. I hope he can overcome being slow and be our back up to Trayce who is bigger than Trayce and can shoot 3s. But he will need to be able to slow down a guard he is switched onto at the 3 point line for 1 second until help comes behind him to stop the guard from driving all the way to the hoop. He can’t be a total road cone and get NBA playing time. He just needs to make the guard swing wide around him. Just slow that guard down a tiny bit so that a help defender has time to get into the play.

I mean post moves like Lebron compared to tacko fall.

Yes but Quinten Post and Brook Lopez are like Muggsy, Bogues compared to Tacko Fall and no Tacko Fall while too slow for the NBA was not that much slower than Saric. That is why I am afraid that Post’s slowness may stop his NBA career like slowness stopped Tacko’s career despite Tacko being 6 inches taller than Post and 50 pounds heavier than Post.

He can set screens. He is big and players will not easily get around his screens. He seems to have a good basketball IQ for understanding team game. He passes well and sees the floor well.
Not a particularly good rebounder in college; why? He was to strong for college boys and could have bullied his way to inside position but he was more of a finesse player than a bully. Does he get a late 1st step towards rebounds like Kuminga? Was he just too slow to be a dominant rebounder despite his size advantage. He is going to be big on the NBA level too but he needs to learn to use his size advantage.
