Yea seems likely. Hell we could’ve just bought 45 or 36. But you can only buy like once every 2 years so maybe we’re saving our cash for next year when we don’t have a 2nd.

Yea there’s a limit to how much each year but there’s something weird where we hit the limit one year in the draft but couldn’t send out money in the next draft.

This toohey guy looks somewhat promising (watched 1 highlight package). Looked kinda like a mix between Tom Gugliotta and Austin Reeves. Hopefully the mix is the good traits of both.

Don’t think the draft picks are terrible. They both have a shot to be a player in the league and fit our system. Just duplicative of players already on the team.

Though mjd said they could be g league bound depending on what happens in free agency. If we do make a trade the draft picks make a lot of sense.

There's no salary scale for all second round picks. There have been occasions where a quality 2nd round pick was offered a slice of the MLE, which allowed the team to sign the player for 3 or 4 guaranteed seasons. But usually, 2nd round picks are signed for the rookie minimum. All minimum salary contracts have a maximum of 2 guaranteed seasons.

Note: Draymond was signed for 3 seasons using a portion of the MLE back in 2012 as a rookie.

Toohey is a better athlete than Jingles ever was. They are about on par for shooting at the same age. Joe developed his 3pt shot mid career. His passing sets him apart from Toohey.

Toohey will give you maximum effort, great game sense/timing and intensity. I reckon his shot will come. His form is ok.

Not sure what the Warriors brain trust was thinking during this draft. Both Koby Brea and Amari Williams would have added translatable NBA skills in areas the team needs. Perhaps I'm biased. Both are Kentucky products and, at this point in my life, I'm tired of seeing so damn many Kentucky products develop on other teams. Oh well. If there's any solace it's that hoping to hit the jackpot in the second round is like hoping to walk out the bar with a supermodel after having put on your beer goggles.

There is a new 2nd round exception, allowing teams to sign 2nd rd picks to 3 or 4 yr contracts at above minimum salary rates. Both Gui Santos and TJD were signed using the 2nd round exception.

Really fun draft. I would have just taken Raynaud 41 but thats hindsight since the trade was already made. And after the trade my picks would have been Luis and Toohey so all things considered i’m on board since I also like Richard.

Toohey reminds me of Santos, but he has better shooting mechanics and a bit more explosiveness finishing. Would not be shocked at all if he becomes a fan favorite reserve sooner than later.

Huge Richard fan but his shooting mechanics made me cross him off the list at 41. He’s got a funky release yet is a great all-around player and the shot does fall somewhat regularly. He reminds me a ton of JTA…. if the shot is good, he’s a great role player because his intangibles are off the charts… but that shot drops below 35% and you start questioning if hes an NBA player… see JTA trajectory.

All and all, two really easy guys to root for following the Dun Jr mold… boring but rotation type guys… high floor, low ceiling.
