I hope Kobe is not Amnestied. I want LAL to pay his salary + luxury tax. Kobe helps the LAL just good enough for the 8th seed so that Stern does not do his magic with LAL with #1 pick.

And Kobe gets his 30+mil extension to only find out he is done after the new contract.

Isn't Stern retiring on February 1, 2014? If so, he won't be around for the 2014 draft lottery and the draft itself.

I thought you could only use amnesty last year or this year....not next.

Any season under the current (2011) CBA, provided the player was under contract before the signing of the current CBA and is still with that team and has not had his contract extended under the current CBA.

Edit: Salary Cap FAQ says it can be used up through the offseason prior to the 2015-16 season.

Lakers don't have the balls to amnesty Kobe unless D. Howard bolts elsewhere.

This coming offseason is their last opportunity to use amnesty, whether on Kobe, Pau, MWP, or Blake.

We really need Denver to lose tonight and LAC to win!

I want Utah to win and Lakers to lose. LA drops out of the playoffs. When Dwight is thinking about re-signing with Lakers, let him think about whether he wants to be on a team that didn't make the playoffs, with Kobe rehabbing (at best), Nash a year older, and no 1st rounder.

I think we all know what's going to happen. Maybe Utah does win but the Lakers will find a way.

Watching Utah game....are the refs helping Memphis win?

Dunno...but Utah is playing awful...tight...missing FTs so don't really deserve to win unless they play better.

Watching Boston/NY. Neither is a great team, but watching veteran teams that know how to play defense.....

I actually don't like watching playoff basketball...especially the early rounds. Most of the players get tight...pick and rolls no longer work and the game simply comes down to a couple of vets going one or two and making low percentage shots to win the game.

Boston and NY...they went 5 minuts at a time without scoring....non Star players bricking shots lol....

Its intense all right...but pretty ugly hoops.

It's not just because players are tight. It's because players actually put effort into game-planning, preparation and most defensive possessions. All the lazy, sloppy, undisciplined and underprepared mistakes that allow for easy offense off of simple plays in the regular season go out the window. In the playoffs you either score off of GREAT execution that forces a well prepared and attentive defense to make a mistake, or you have to make a tough shot with a hand in your face. I love playoff hoops. I want the regular season cut down to 20 games every year. Meaningless low effort showboat hoops is for the Globetrotters, the and1 tour and my rec league. Pros should have a hard time scoring. They are supposed to be playing against other pros. I appreciate when they actually play like pros.

Paul George wins most improved player, Marc Gasol wins DPOY and JR "tryna get the pipe" Smith wins 6 MOY.

If we had drafted George over Udoh in 2010, Curry, Klay and George could have been a ridiculous perimeter combo. George would average like 6 assists a game passing to Curry and Klay and Lee.

Maybe Barnes will grow 2 inches this off-season.

If we' drafted George, then they likely would have drafted a big like Drummond this year. I know that nothing would have fallen the same if they'd got George, but imagine Bogut/Lee/Drummond/Curry/Thompson/George.......

OTOH, George was a guy, coming out of college, that needed some structure to polish his game. Not sure if Warrior circa 2010 was the place for that.
