Nothing is official "until the fat lady sings"....or KD confirms it himself. I want to just ignore this because I don't want to get my hopes up only to be even more disappointed.

The fat lady has sung.

Nike pays KD $300m and KD probably needs to keep them in the loop for his decision.

Nike will know way ahead of all those “insiders” like WoJ or Shams.

whilst agreed, i don't think Nike knew he was coming here before anyone else. All his sneakers that were released for the first half of that season were still OKC colours. There wen't any "GSW" colourways until towards the end of the season

I honestly don't think KD even knows where he wants to go yet and won't until the Finals are over. I think he's leaning New York with his agent Rich Kleiman (and Roc Nation being based in New York) but I don't think he's totally written out GSW.

As focused as KD is on success off the court I believe he knows his future plans already.

I'm feeling warm and fuzzy about KD coming back and finally signing a multi year deal with the Dubs. Maybe only 3 years, but multi year.

I just don't see the advantage of playing with Kyrie's sketchy ass, or going to the Trainwreck that is New York or the Lakers.

And then Clippers? Come on, might as well stay with dudes you like in a system and coach that fits you.

Common sense says he stays.

I'm starting to think this way, with another factor to boot as well.

The Warriors are in the trenches right now, getting bombarded with injuries. All of the role guys getting minutes and grinding towards this title, win or lose, will bring the group even closer together. You can see it in KD when the guys are coming off the court, he's emotionally invested and knows just how hard this team is fighting in the face of all sorts of setbacks and scrutiny. It's very realistic to think that KD's respect for everyone around him during this process will grow big time, as through adversity, you grow closer with people.

If he only thinks of it in baseball terms, there's no other conclusion he could reach.

But we know these kinds of decisions are not just about basketball.

Remember back in February or March, how surly he came across in post-game interviews, how detached he seemed to be from his teammates?

His spirit seems to be better since the playoffs or just before it.

But who knows where he'll be in another month.

Precisely. Seeing KD in the tunnel every chance he can get you see he is in that foxhole with them. He comes back game 4 and that entire team will elevate. Everybody gut check time. He knows to be apart of this culture is something rare. Im feeling so good about him coming back. He knows this group can truly respond in the clutch. He wont find this in NY.

this ridiculous series of injuries should actually makes him realise how important is to be part of a great team with a great coaching staff and system, with a great culture, with other great players like steph, klay, dray, dre, the same boogie (if he resign another year for the mid level exception). even if one or two of them go down, the team can still be competitive to the highest level. which other team in the league can do the same?
for a basketball standpoint, no one in his right mind will leave a situation like this.

What it shows it that despite the narrative that the Warriors killed competition in the NBA, each of these titles are harder and harder to win.

KD alluded to that last year after they won, how hard it was.

But if you go by RealGM, Warriors are so stacked that it's automatic they'd win titles.

This year has been even more difficult than last year, with all the drama during the season, the injuries, especially in the playoffs.

It's automatic, except when they say, like I just read, that the only reason for the dynasty is that other teams always had injuries (you know the list.) They can't make up their minds.

Does anyone actually believe him leaving or staying hinges on whether the Warriors win or lose the Finals without him? That’s what Steven A Smith noted not too long ago I believe.

Some reporters are suggesting there's "frustration" or some kind of friction between the team and KD about his availability for the Finals.

That friction is like the mini synopsis of the season over his impending free agency.

So there may be renewed antagonism now between KD and the team, now just 3 weeks before free agency.

Windhorst is a hack. There is no friction. Its KD and the team all being frustrated that he's not reaady to go. The training staff and KD both agree he physically isn't capable of playing.

I agree but he did announce the Heat Big 3 teaming up shortly before it happened. Did someone announce it prior to him back then?

He said there was a 95% chance of KD going to the Knicks, followed by "it's between the Clippers and the Nets", followed by "he'll stay with the Warriors if they lose".

Basically he predicted all realistic scenarios so he could say "see I told you on x date that it was going to happen".

Fair enough. Was just holding out hope even if it’s him reporting it.

I personally think Steven A is either an idiot or a showman TV personality who is just there to entertain the masses. But with that said, I also believe KD will come back if the Dubs can’t comeback to win this series. Not just to prove a point but to try to take over the team and be recognized as the lead dawg changing the narrative on his legacy.

I truly believe it. He isn’t winning Jack in NY with the Knicks. Kyrie’s been exposed in these playoffs as a front running fraud who was carried by LeBron (also see 2015 6 game series vs 2016 7 game series Cavs for direct evidence). And he is absolutely atrocious defensively, another reason Cavs were always in a uphill battle against the Dubs all these years since.

KD is good but he ain’t no prime LeBron and he is already on the north side of 30. Knicks won’t even get passed 2nd round with him and Kyrie as his sidekick past Bucks, Philly, Toronto and probably even Indiana with their chemistry and improving Oladipo back.

Nets need an elite big to battle Embiid so KD alone is not enough because he will bully them in the post again next year and so will the Greek freak. KD and Vucavic would make more of a sense for them and save a bit $$$ as well on Vuc than KD and Kyrie max x2 combo. Even still chemistry would be in question and again KD is not getting any younger.

With the warriors, he can simply slide back, not worry about chemistry and return to being best player on the team, except this time he would be getting the love and respect especially if dubs don’t comeback and get gentleman swept on Monday without him.

SplashBros are still young and in their prime and Klay can actually help him out on the defensive end like few can while offering the same 20+ ppg help unlike Kyrie.

Knowing KD’s mentality through social media an ego, I don’t see him leaving. I can definitely see Dray being the odd man out though if KD stays to make salary room.
