Pacers Inquired With Jazz On Trade For Lauri Markkanen
Sounds like he either wasn't available or the price was astronomically high. Which I think is what most people assumed anyway. Doubt the Warriors would give what they ask for him even if he's gettable.

Apparently the lakers called mjd and offered dlo for wiggins.
Dlo might actuality be a defensive upgrade over steph, klay and cp3.

Steph’s defense is not so bad after the 1st 5 minutes of games. I think DLO is a worse defender than Steph. I have not formed a clear opinion of ancient version of Chris Paul’s defense. Chris Paul leads the team in plus minus.
Since Chris Paul is injured and can’t play he is not playing good defense.
Klay is defending a bit better lately. Klay has some good defensive moments but I am concerned about him being too slow to defend off guards. Klay is not too slow to defend power forwards but he might be too small. I guess Klay is a small forward now unless Wiggins gets right.
Keep Klay off of quick players with good drives and an outside shot. Same thing I felt about Bird when Larry Bird was my home town guy but Bird was more than strong enough to defend power forwards.

Worst contract in the league Wiggins but Indy, Dallas, lal, kings have all been linked to him.

DLo actually played pretty well in the LAL thumping of GSW in last season's playoffs. That said, GSW has no need for DLo. What we need instead is playable wings and bigs.

There are much worse contracts in the league. Someone in another thread said Wiggins was the worst contract in the league. If he was the worst contract in the league teams wouldn’t be interested in him. I mean for 1 Ben Simmons is in the league and no one is trying to trade for him.

He's been linked. But the lakers offer was real according to timpf.
So either wiggins isn't just getting dumped at all cost or he is dealing or dealt with some underlying issue that has caused his slow start.

but wtf they would just dump him?
he's not playing well, ok. but his contract is not that bad, actually I remember at the time he signed many were liking the fact the $$ were less than expected. there are much worse contracts not only in the league, in the very same warriors team.
you can trade him, but not dump him. and if you do trade him, you better get in return 1/2 good athletic defensive players.

Re: Potential big moves 2023-24
Wiggins may or may not be underperforming his contract and his inconsistency could be a morale drain but he’s not the guy we need to dump. Klay is a bigger problem on all fronts.
We also need to move Draymond whenever he has value again. Wiggins is letting himself be passed (slowly, but it’s coming) by Kuminga. That’s fine while JK is on a rookie deal. We can absolutely pay Wiggins and keep him as the backup and it’s not a salary problem at their position. But some big chunks of our cap do need to be reallocated to better and more consistent players urgently. It may not be realistic to expect to solve all these problems this year, but by next trade deadline if they aren’t on a discernible patch to getting Curry back into contention then we have to start talking about the Kuya thread.

The General Board saying Chris Boucher may be available. Worth pursuing?

I like Boucher. Would have been an ideal guy to bring back packaged in an OG trade but that ship has sailed. But I'm not trading Kuminga for Boucher and it's hard to see them keeping Draymond and Kuminga and Boucher.

Re: Potential big moves 2023-24
Honestly, the biggest potential move is for wiggins to get back to form. He, dray, and steph NEED to play like the top 3 players on a contender. And it still is possible.
There's no other 2 way player on this team and no 2 way player on the market
People clamoring for more offense and a second option while mentioning guys like siakam etc.. , do people forget that klay is taking up a 40+ million salary slot to be the 1st or 2nd option on an NBA team?
Trading Wiggins and/or dray who combined make as much as klay will only signal a rebuild because itv still leaves you with a 44M dollar problem who is best as a gunner off the bench because his only value is based on the amount of shots he makes.

infact the first to trade should be klay.
it's been evident since last season.

Re: Potential big moves 2023-24
The team with the most interest in Wiggins over the last two weeks, according to sources, is the Dallas Mavericks. Details of talks aren't known.
Wiggins would provide Dallas with a more stable small forward option who can also play power forward, as free agency acquisition Grant Williams has been disappointing.
For the Magic, they're in a unique position to send assets they are willing to part with if Lowry is content to stay in Orlando. It might provide the Magic with a way to add a veteran while they try to find long-term answers there, even if that answer is ultimately committing money to Markelle Fultz on a big extension.
The other name mentioned is Chris Paul. The Warriors are obviously keen to shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic that is their season. Details of talks aren't known, but Jonathan Isaac and Moses Moody are players each team has interest in for a potential deal. Whether the Magic and Warriors are willing to trade those players may be an entirely different question.

Dallas gets Wiggins
Dubs get Williams and Holmes
It's the salary dump without adding assets. I'm guessing the mavs are offering something along these lines.
Orlando gets cp3, saric, and moody
Dubs get Isaac, harris, and goga
Less likely of the 2 deals, but the magic get a stretch big they need and a vet pg for a playoff run.
Dubs get size.

I like the Orlando deal. If Rick can get Isaac healthy then he’s exactly what we need.
