I hope there are some significant media folk that have the balls to call it for what it is, a completely corrupt forced move by the league to revamp the Lakers for the next decade, to get the ratings back on track for investors of the NBA product. The NBA has gone to ****.

...why do you think the Mavs would go along with that lol

The conspiracy is saying so that they can move to Vegas.

Not sure about that. Vegas is a lock for an expansion team and all the money that comes with it. Doubt the owners or the league want to pass up that money just to move a current team there.

What the deal may have shown is the new ownership ain't exactly Mark Cuban in his prime. That trade got them out the luxury tax now and likely in the future now that they don't have to pay Luka the SuperMax.

New Mavs ownership might be cheap

Bill Simmons said on his pod that he heard from someone in the know that the next move is LeBron to the Warriors. Simmons also doesn't think LeBron or Klutch knew, and this was basically the Lakers saying F it, he's 41 now, whatevs.

I am waiting for the report that the Warriors were active in discussions centered around Wiggins for Doncic. The holdup was the inclusion of Kuminga, who the Warriors perceive as a future top 10 player. As well as Podz, who coach Kerr says really settles the team down and helps them stay connected. Mike Dunleavy Jr, reiterated the Warriors will remain patient for the right deal.

I’m not going to act like Luka isn’t good but I don’t enjoy watching him play basketball.

Sounds like Dallas targeted AD and there was never an option for another team to jump in.

Would Kings have any interest in:

Kuminga for Keon Ellis and Colby Jones (maybe get a pick out of it)

If we need to add Wiggins (and likely GP2) to get Jimmy or Lavine, we would desperately need to get a perimeter defender. I could absolutely get behind a lineup of Steph, Ellis, Moody, Jimmy, Dray... or Steph, Ellis, Lavine, Dray, Looney.

If Dallas was set on AD they still should have offered Luka to 28 other teams to cause a bidding war and sweeten the offer/return.

GMing 101.

I woke up still pissed off lol. 25yr top three player and future hall of famer gifted to the fkn Lakers. You couldn't make it up.

Luka’s a FA in 2026. If he don’t want to go to your team, your team isn’t trading much for a rental. Don’t matter if the rental is Luka.

Dallas mistake, if there’s a chance Luka would have made it Lakers or bust, was not busting the Lakers for all they got.

The fact that the Lakers have any draft picks or swaps left (not to mention Reaves and Knect) is GM malpractice imo

The more Dunleavy misses on targets, assuming Butler and Lavine were targets, the more we return to the Gary St. Jean era of Warriors :(

Bulls gave away Lavine for salary relief? ?? If we find out Warriors WANTED Lavine and they couldn't beat that deal, Dunleavy officially sucks.

I dont know what you wanted mjd to do.

He's not allowed to trade steph, dray, kuminga, podz, or picks.

And we can't offer enough salary relief either.

I assume that really means that the Warriors weren't willing to offer the maximum extension he's eligible for and is current insisting on. Which is a sound decision. Phoenix is only wiling to offer that because they'd be getting out of Beal's contract in the deal.
