Re: Options for This Offseason
Why do reputable nba reporters (e.g. slater) refer to JK's extension as BYC now but more easily tradeable come december? The BYC rules apply for the entire season and there's nothing that can happen after he signs his extension that will change that, right?
The only change that i am aware of is the Dec 15 deadline for players signed in the summer (or 90 days, whichever is longer). Meaning, if JK isn't S&T'ed, he can't be traded until Dec 15, or maybe at all this year, if he signs his extension super late (like Lauri last year?). Beyond that, he's BYC limited until next summer, unless i'm missing something.

Is there anything more than the wire tap article from Jake Fisher on Portis to the Warriors?
Doesn’t seem like a likely move to me, considering our salary cap and players on our roster

It's the offseason bro!
Exactly right. Fischer's comment "Golden State has always been a team to monitor for Portis..." because Kerr was a fan, turn into headlines like, "Warriors Are Reportedly Interested In Bucks' Power Forward"
I'm just bracing myself for the "Warriors passed on JK for Portis trade" takes next season....

The BYC restrictions only apply to sign-and-trades. Since S&Ts can't be done after the start of the season, the BYC rules won't apply to any trades after that.

From Kawakami, Dubs going to give Post to the reign and bypass center needs.
So it sounds like Dubs won't have any FA money after resigning JK.

Really? So moody was tradeable at last year's deadline at his full salary? And aggregatable?

I believe he was by the deadline.
If they sign JK this summer and keep him he would be tradeable at the deadline.

Moody was a different case than Kuminga, not related to the BYC rules. He signed a rookie scale extension, which means he is subject to what's known as a "poison pill" provision (though that phrase never appears in the CBA.) His salary was $5.8M, but for trade purposes (until July 1 when his extension kicks in) his salary for the receiving team is the average of the annual salary in each year of his extension plus his current-year salary. For the Warriors it would simply be his current salary.
So Moody counts for $11.2M for the receiving team, and $5.8M for the outgoing Warriors. This is still the case until July 1.

Is there a vote option for "Find a legitimate starting SG and C?"
Every player should be on the table for trades besides Curry, Butler, Draymond for one last push. Then blow it up in 1-2 years.

A long shot of course but the reason Phoenix was after Butler was because KD wanted him and it was said he'd only sign an extension with Phoenix if they traded for Butler. This is also why Butler was trying to force a trade to Phoenix. Now that Butler's in GS, I would think there would be some interest for KD to return but he may not want to play with Draymond again who has somewhat of a chunky contract to toss in a trade.

We can’t have Jimmy and KD unless you want to trade Steph.

No center of consequence will want to sign with GS only to be benched for Draymond in the postseason.

I'd be good with Capella, he lost his starting spot in Atlanta and may be good playing limited minutes as a starter. Taking a chance on a 7 footer, I kinda liked Orlando Robinson in Miami before he left and they also had Omar Yurtseven who went back overseas, he was a 7 footer working on his 3pt shot.
When Bam went out a couple of years ago, Yurtseven played well in his absence. Then Miami acquired K.Love and went small ball with Bam and Love at center. A lot of Heat fans wanted Yurtseven to start at center and move Bam to PF.
There's players with talent to take a chance with out there, GS just needs to find the ones who will work within their system.

It sounds like they are likely to run it back with their big-man rotation from last season.
