Fun finish for the W.

It's hard to take too much from a preseason game but the old guys looked old against these Blazers.

Podz hasn't been able to keep anyone in front of him so far through two games.

Melton's POA defense is going to be key for this roster, IMO.

The 2nd unit has been struggling without one of jb or curry. How long will Kerr not keep one of jb and curry out there in the regular season though?

I’d rather have cryer than Spencer/rowe/toohey on a 2 way.

No he wasn’t.

he was doing pretty well at half time, defending, passing ... 3rd quarter was disaster...and Podz was just not doing much out there if he is not with the stars

I like that Kuminga's trying to do the right things, but he's still messing up way too much for a winning team, maybe with more reps off the bench it'll get better. Both Post and Kuminga had 4 TOs each for the game although 1 of Post's TOs was him trying to save a ball going out of bounds.

Here's some highlights of Golden State's backups putting up 51 points in the 4h quarter (29 of those from Post and Cryer).

I didn't really like Al with the starters. Especially with all the ball pressure that the blazers were putting on us. Seems like we would've done better with Podz starting instead of Horford for this game.

Me too -- I was wondering if that's possible in some way. Comes back to my question about why they signed Toohey to a contract at all. Do the Dubs have any room to sign Cryer to a 2-way, or would they have to salary dump to stay under the 2nd apron?

Could they trade Toohey back to some Australian team for "future draft considerations" to clear the money off their books? Could they trade any of those three to an NBA team for "future draft considerations" to clear the space?

Also, not to sound like Steve Balmer here, but if they pay another team to take one of those contracts ("cash considerations"), are they able to clear the salary off their books from a cap standpoint?

Two-way salaries don't count against the cap, so they don't affect aprons at all. If they want to change two-way players, they just waive one and sign someone else. Two-way contracts are non-guaranteed, but can be negotiated to pay up to half of the salary at the start of the regular season. Either way, all two-way salaries become fully guaranteed on 1/7/26. A two-way salary is half the rookie minimum.

EDIT: Exhibit 10 contracts, like Cryer signed, can be converted into two-way contracts before the regular season begins. There has to be a spot open, of course.

Rowe should be off the 2 way. Not like he has help much in his tenure.

I expect things to change by the regular season. Two-ways are a nice method to toss some extra $$ for a few months at loyal GLeague dudes.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Butler doing a cartwheel coming out for open practice. Buddy came out before Butler and did a cartwheel so Butler copied him. Would have been nice to see that in the video.

I hope Moody's calf doesn't turn into something more serious.

I think there is a very good chance this type of thing is foreshadowing how the season will go. Lots of “banged up” players each week with lots of different combinations of starting lineups and rotations. Which is why it was so important to get a roster that pretty much has almost 15 useful players on it.

It’s also why I have been saying JK’s fit with Warriors (in terms of having a role) is actually way better than he thinks compared to other teams. There are going to be a ton of minutes and probably a lot of starts on this team. And his direct competition are guys that will be retiring when he’s ready for a huge deal. Whereas even on the Kings they will run things through Sabonis, have Keegan, have Derozan, and have Clifford as a possible future starting 2/3.
