or we end up with DLO/Curry/Klay lineup would pretty much guarantee the worst defense in the league, next year DLO's value will be worse and Curry is 33. I think the era is over either way unless you get Giannis

We won't be the worst defense. Probably bottom 10 tho. And why would Dlo's value be worse next year?

1. he is older
2. teams know more about his ability and also know we are desperate

Covington+FRP+filler for Dlo would be a sweet deal.

Assuming the Warriors are able to trade DLo for Teague+Covington+FRP, what do the Warriors do with Teague? My theory is that the Warriors front office does not care about going over the cap so the fact that he is an expiring does nothing for them. I think they would rather trade him for a player on a multi-year deal that could help the team. Is there any way this could lead to them flipping Teague and fillers for either of Gallo/Adams/Love?

Who is older? Dlo? He'll be 24 next year. He'll be fine.

I feel like teams already know about his abilities.

He's a good young player who needs to control the game and have the ball in his hands a lot to operate at his best. The general sense is that he's much better than a role player but not quite an all star or franchise player either.

Also, I don't know why exactly we should be desperate to trade him when he hasn't even played with the full roster yet. I have my concerns too about Dlo but at least let's see how he does with the roster at full strenght before already shipping him away.

Dlo for Covington, Adams and 1st?

I'll also have one of those, please.

We would probably have to throw the Minny 1st to get Adams, unless Myers works his mojo and gifts them a 2 for 1 double combo of "Snipper" Poole & "Point God" Evans

If the stars get aligned, we get a top 2 pick and flip the TPE for a proven backup guard. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it:

Curry, TPE, Bowman
Thompson, Burks, Poole/Lee...
Roco, PasGod, Iguodala
Draybeast, Looney Tunes, Smailagic
Adams, Wiseman, Spellman

or

Curry, TPE, Bowman
Thompson, Edwards, Poole/Lee...
Roco, PasGod, Igoudala
Draybeast, Looney Tunes, Smailagic
Adams, Spellman, Chriss

Either roster is f****** deep. Lord have mercy.

You guys realize that Russells salary matches Adams, but how in the Hell are you also gonna add Teague and Covington? you're taking back double what Russell makes. Talk about a pipe dream.

The only way anything close could happen would be a 3 way where Russell goes to the Wolves, Adams goes to the Warriors, Teague, Dieng, and young pieces go to OKC.

Then in summer, in our one week time period to use the TPE, we somehow convince the Wolves to give us Covington.

Both scenarios very tough IMO.

No problemo Mylie, I've shoehorned a trade: the numbers work! And without TPE 8-)

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=v6qpdqn

Unfortunatelly couldn't get Coxy's King Tolly as the sweetener.

Joking aside, I hope Joey "Lightyears" will put his nickname in use and next season we'll have a beefy roster.

There’s not enough players in that trade Floyd.

Deals off if we don’t get the King.

Warriors could save a lot in luxury taxes over the next two years by dumping $6 million in salary.

I really dislike these non stories about how some team "could" do something, either tell me they are likely based on sources or say nothing.

EDIT: Not directed at poster, directed at the athletic or sports media in general really.

I saw that story too, the problem is the writer talks about getting rid of 3 players without mentioning that the Warriors have to have 14 players the rest of they year. He doesn't say how they would do that. Plus, he talks about trading Looney--not going to happen, IMO.

Has to be tempting to the Warriors though, with attendance far blow what they hoped for in the inaugural season at Chase.

Sure, it would be tempting (even billionaires like money) but it's a narrow path. If you rule out trading Draymond and/or Russell for far less salary, then you're not left with much. Trading Looney, Burks, and Poole for draft picks, for instance, gets you below the tax line, but then signing 3 minimum salaries puts you over again.

They could trade DLo for far lesser salary, but the whole point of getting him, as far as I can tell, was to preserve a max (or close) salary slot. I can't see them doing anything with him before summer, when the hard cap is gone and they have some flexibility.

Would the Warriors do this?

AG and Vucevic for Green and DLo.

How to get 6m lower. I think this might work if Chicago wants to shed salary and add a 1st. Thad Young isn't playing much and doesn't seem to fit in their long term plans. Teague is expiring and they get a 1st from Minny. The rest has been debated endlessly. I was leaning against a trade with Minny for RoCo but adding Thad would be enough to accept it.

GS In: Thad Young & RoCo Out: Dlo & Evans = Saves $5M
Chi In: Teague, Evans & Minny 1st Out: Thad Young
Min In: Dlo Out: RoCo, Teague & 1st

Still need to shed another $1M which should be easy by trading WCS for a pick. saving another $2.2M which would shed $7.2 in Salary

Next year Sign Iggy and Draft Wiseman
Curry/Bowman
Klay/Iggy/Poole
RoCo/Paschall
Green/Thad Young/Spellman
Wiseman/Looney/ Smalligic

Lol, does anyone see any way of getting Bam Abedayo on our team?

Steph/Klay/__/Draymond/Bam could be an amazing NBA lineup. I don't see any way unless we trade Russell + high draft pick though, and even then who knows if Miami does it.

Miami wouldn't trade Bam for D'Lo and the 2020 1st, they're looking to become contenders now and Bam is essential to it, whereas D'Lo's skill-set is redundant given their play-style and roster.
