After a rough start in terms of shooting, he heated up and showed some nice touch around the rim and even some midrange (including a 12-foot jump hook). Also had 9 boards and continued to show a willingness to box out. Also tipped several rebounds to teammates that he wasn't able to grab himself; that won't be reflected in the box score but coaches will definitely appreciate that effort. Also did a decent job of rim protecting with 3 blocks and altered several other misses. One strength he brings that no one else on our team can replicate: he looks like a legit 7-footer. He looks huge compared to the other Sea Dubs, he takes up space in the paint and he did not get pushed around; definitely appears to be bigger and stronger than last season.
The bad: 6 turnovers. Two looked like miscommunications and given how bad some of his teammates are, not sure they were entirely Wiseman's fault and as noted, one was a 3-second call that likely won't be called in the NBA. But several were the result of those suspect hands and those are the ones he must improve upon. Also zero assists, and the passes he did throw did not seem noteworthy. At this stage, his passing clearly seems to be a good tier below our other bigs like Looney and Belly.
Nice recap, exactly how it seemed to me as well. All of which to me seems like enough to bring him up. Especially the movement stuff... he looks to be moving great, and while he was huffing and puffing here and there, it was after sprinting up and down the floor for a solid 4 minute stretch. I think his conditioning is probably good enough for the type of minutes he will start with on the GSW team.
All in all, I consider this a really successful 3 games. Got his cardio in, got some trust in his leg, got some shots up and in. I'm excited for the weekend.
