You'd think the coach that keeps telling us "we use analytics" to figure out lineups would have figured out that playing Moody more and Wiggins less could help them win more and lose less. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Do they really use analytics though? because the lineups they play would say otherwise.

The analytics we use are the same ones the Kerr jock-riders on this board use... "4 rangz"

Since AS break, klay has averaged the most 4th quarter minutes. Even more than steph. Klay also has the worst net rtg by far among the rotation guys (only saric is worse). Kerr has just doubled down on closing games with klay and its gotten uglier. Can't get that many minutes and be the worst in every stat except the volume scoring ones.

Since AS break, Klay has a 3.3% rebounding percentage in the 4th. 3%...3%.

The next closest is 50% higher. Steph at 4.5%. That stat just seems wild to me, there's no way that coaches don't see it.

either they don't or they don't know how to read them.

I imagine his thinking is Klay provides floor spacing but spacing doesn't really matter when you have nobody that can attack the lane

“Apes don’t read philosophy.” “Yes they do; they just don’t understand it.”

Yes. I think most NBA ex players could throw out low percentage chuck fests...and that's what Klay is doing.

I realize we are here:

But today's Klay stat is that when he is off court, the Warriors are +7.1 per 100 possessions. That is the highest on the team.

Kla is a guy you can go to if he gets hot.
Keep looking at whether Klay can play power forward on defense because he is failing as a guard on defense.

He can’t play pf because he’s a trash rebounder and doesn’t rotate.

On top of the team winning all their games he doesn't play by an average of 20 points per game.

But hcan get hot!!!!!!

Any player is a player you can play when they get hot... if you throw Moody or Q into the same spot, they will have nights where they get hot too. Being a good player is about establishing a floor, and Klay's floor is in the basement. His upside is less than what it used to be too. He's just a guy, and he should be treated on the same tier as Moody, CP3, GP2, and JK in that if they are playing effective ball, play them until they arent. But their respective histories or draft status or contract status or whatever should not earn any of them a single extra minute anymore. Curry & Dray should be the only 2 guys who have the luxury of playing through sh*t games, and even Dray's a bit of a reach

they should've dumped him and kept JP.
that's how bad he is for the team.

Not quite. JP's contract was a factor as well.

I’ve watched a few Bullets games recently and JP looks like he is actually listening to the coaches and doesn’t look horrific. With the ball in his hands that is. His D is completely unsalvageable.

he's younger, cheaper, better in creating his own shot, better at attacking the rim, better at earning FTs, can be a second ball-handler, can be a second scoring option, in the 2021-2022 season was great, especially in the first round vs DEN. his D is unsalvageable? so is klay's at this stage of his career. everything else would've made more sense keeping him. klay is older, is done as a 20+ mins player and his body language stinks.
ofc after the punch incident JP couldn't stay, but an organization really 'light years ahead' would've kept him, traded klay, held green accountable for the punch and addressed the situation with him one way or the other. they s**t the bed big time on this.

They should have never extended JP until his contract was done. Not knowing how to handle Dray and because of that extending JP was a wild move.

He's not better at anything, if Klay wanted to uncontrollable drive into the lane and turn it over or miss a wild shot he probably could

Isn't that what Klay does currently?
