The Tank 11'12 thread.

I'm not a tanker by heart, nor am I a typical Warrior downer, HOWEVER, this season to me, is one of the most defining seasons in recent draft history. The league is looking at 2 seasons worth of draft prospects coming into the league next season, AFTER a short season where we are unlikely to figure into much of a playoff chance.

We have a shot here at becoming relevant.

I know the regulars will hate me for this. But in the long run, it is what is needed.

Stephen Curry for New Orleans 1st. (Either NO's or MT's unprotected 1st).

That gives us options.

NEXT, we suck. Enough to keep our 1st. Losing 45 games should do it, without Curry. That gives us 2 1st round picks in this next STACKED draft. We need to turn from outside/inside, to inside/outside. There are MANY players in this draft that can help us do that.

Drummond, Davis, Sullinger, Barnes, Jones, Gilchrist, Henson, Jones, Robinson.

Time to swing big, get 2 PICKS in the next draft. Give up 1 of our smalls to do it.

I'm all in. I'll be rooting against the Warriors every game for the rest of the season.

If we arrive at next seasons draft with 2 top 8 1st round picks, I'll poop myself. The draft will be stacked. We MUST recognize the opportunity we have here. Get those 1sts West.

Not a fan of tanking, but there's something to be said for it this year. If we were to make a deal, it would have to be for Minnesota's first. Put Curry with Gordon, Okafor, Landry, Ariza, Kaman, and others, and that team could sniff the playoffs. They'd be pretty decent.....

I said it before and I'll say it again. Lottery draft BUSTS are a dime a dozen. Trading Curry for a hand of Black Jack is bonkers, even if he isnt a franchise player he can still net us a quality player. Regardless of all of that, even if we wanted to be stupid and trade Curry for a pick, we could net a lot more than just an unprotected lotto pick. We could easily do a Beans/Kaman swap to clean up some cap.

Not in. We have a bunch of expirings, and Beans contract can be moved and his value would go up if he has a good season. We can possibly pick up some draft picks with all those contracts.

We have a good team that can make the playoffs.

Gravy

I thinks they'd laugh at that., but i have suggested it

GS trade - Biedrins, Curry
GS receive - Okafor, 1st (Minny)

NO treade - Okafor, 1st (Minny)
NO Receive - Biedrins, Curry

Amazing for us. I doubt this goes down though.

You keep enjoying this turd burger of a roster that isn't good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to keep our pick. And then you enjoy next season when we come back with the same lineup and Lacob saying that he needs more time to evaluate.

Meanwhile I'll be pulling for the tank and a chance to turn this franchise around.

Yup sounds like every other year.

"Oh BOY The draft will change us!! Oh yes it will!! Let's tank so we could finally be good!!!!"

Winning starts, when you start winning. As dumb as that sounds, it's real.

Let's tank, so we could develop our youngs even more, and when the time does arrive where they've developed, well have to tank again since there's no damn talent on this team left.

Like it happens every year.

Just tell me two Warriors years in the last twenty that people weren't rooting for the tank from the earliest part of the season. And it's got us what, exactly? A cluster of seventh and ninth and whatnot draft picks and continued mediocrity. Every big thing that needed to happen with this franchise has happened in the last couple of years. Now I'm going to give it a chance because I'm bored with despair.

Lock it up!!! If we continue to play at that level, we have no reason at all to tank for a rookie that might never even reach Kwame Brown's level.

Yall do know the big prospects drummond, davis, pj III are raw as hell offensively. Drummond is the only one worth tanking for and he's going number 1.

While davis should be a nice defensive addition and can do some interesting things offensively, he won't be a number 1 option. he's not close to that kg comparison, wont bring low post scoring, he can't even create for himself in college.

sullinger can bring low post scoring, but he'll always be a defensive liability.

Idk about tanking a year, and losing curry for a shot at drummond. Curry should develop into an efficient no. 1 option, his stroke is too wet. Drummond is the only person worth tanking for but it's a long shot to get him. I don't see superstars in this next draft (maybe drummond), rather really solid players that have a shot at a few all star games. Barnes wont be able to create his own shot at the next level (at best he'll be shooting pull up jumpers). Lamb will be a real solid player but again won't be creating for himself. You'll find keepers in this next draft but the only franchise changer i see is drummond and he's still raw and would benefit tremendously by staying in college.

I was all for the tank before the season started, but we're playing defense this season. The effort is there, we're making the playoffs this year as long as steph can stay on the court.

Because Warrior fans rooting for tanking means the Warriors actually tanked?

I'd rather we try to get an extra pick in 2013 to get Nerlens Noel in 2013 than trade Curry for a chance at Drummond in this draft.

Lol, exactly. I doubt the Warriors have ever actually tanked. Maybe Nellie tried to get us up a few spots once or twice, but I doubt we've ever actually tanked.

Amazing that we beat the Bulls, however we seem to have their number for some strange reason.

Why is it amazing?

You need to start watching games.

Tanks threads after 1 game = Coxy's a drama queen

How long will Curry's glass ankle hold up. Might have to jump aboard the tank.
