I'm so tired of the PR. Myers is apparently not much different, telling people we won't keep all 4 picks. You don't see good teams like the Spurs and Mavs telling everyone what they're going to do. That seems to be reserved for teams like Charlotte and Washington.

I hated everything about how Nellie coached a team. But this organization could learn a lot from his ability to manipulate the media.

I'm waiting to see how it plays out. Could be some kind of a market play.

What they are doing is actually smart... I love it and encourage it. They are advertising, which draws more interest, which can result in a bidding war.

The fact that it angers fans is just gravy

Why do only bad teams seem to do this? And why does advertising need to be public? Doesn't Myers have everyone's phone number?

Are you guys serious? Who cares what they say to the media or wht the media reports. You only are paying attention to what Meyers/lacob are saying not what the 29 other owners who do the same things or pretty similar. Just because you say something doesn't mean it's written in stone. Go look at the wiretap and see all the reports of teams willing to trade their pick and discussing draft prospects and potential trade ideas.

I'm fine with it. They talked about trading to secure the pick and guess what? They did nothing more then beat around the bush

Doesnt need to be public, just like it doesnt need to be private. I havent seen any examples of bad teams doing it either... I cant recall ever seeing it. Just saying. You never saw San Antonio said they wanted to move up and draft Leonard.

This is all about jockeying for negotiating position and about letting the other GMs know that the Dubs are in the mix with regards to deals and don't want to be left out. I can guarantee that just about any deal being discussed by teams their GMs will be contacting Myers before completing anything. This is a good way to at least put yourself in a competitive position for whatever is out there and and even be able to jack up the price for their competitors.

We've already seen this tactic and it's effectiveness during the offseason. Even though the Warriors may have seemed as though they lost out, they may have actually won in that they impacted the deal such that their competitor was forced to overpay which actually may wind up having long term implications for both the Warriors and their competition.

When you look at the NBA (as well as pro sports teams in general), with the better teams/organizations, it's not just about what you do, it's about what you can keep the other guy from doing.

If anyone is really worried about this, then you are tripping. This is just about standard procedure. Teams from 1-30 always talking about trading up, down or moving their pick for a player. You do realize in the FO everyday GMs, assistants and scouts are throwing names to other teams gauging what their players are worth, what other GMS think their players are worth.

This is no big deal and if you really thought the Warriors were going to take 4 drafted rookies into camp, you are dilussional

please tell when was the last time a team drafted and kept 3 rookies one year and added 4 more the next season? Please tell me. oh and your so called good teams, they also draft players who sit in Europe for about 3 seasons and some dont even come.. Way to use a smart draft pick there..

Thats 11 right there, so even if you did resign the guys we want, plus 4 picks, we would have no use for our MLE and adding any kind of veteran help. Seriously.. I wouldnt be surprised if we walk away with two picks, maybe one gets moved to next year and one is some euro guy and have room to use our MLE for a roster spot

When you have two high second round picks, and need more talent on your team, I expect we can keep 3 out of 4 picks. The 36th pick in this draft could be better than Jenkins or Tyler.

Yes I was gonna say there were rumors all over the place that the Spurs were trying to trade up. Some of the rumors even involved trading Tony Parker to do so. Wasn't there also rumors that Klay Thompson was one of their targets?

That's !! WITH McGuire...who is a UFA...no Bird Rights so...if he's here,almost half the MLE is gone.
Depends on who we draft. If we go for a lot of frontcourt...we're less apt to re-up McGuire.
We CAN draft a player at 52, not sign him,but retain rights a little while.

Then again...trades are a possibility.

I have no problem with a lot of picks if we pick WELL and we then follow through. 30 + 35 +52 probably cost us more than $15 MILLION...so to then start saying...Oh....changed my mind...want an old 3rd string G. Anyone think there is ANY way GSW goes from winning under 40% to ..like a 4 seed..boom...right away? Seriously...not happening. No, you BUILD UP a BASE.

A GREAT way to build up a base is to DRAFT WELL and DEVELOP WELL. Right now, we got enough improvement on EACH of Thompson,Jenkins, Tyler to consider it as turning a profit on each.

Now...if you get FOUR guys,turn a profit on each...then you got WHAT? A good team with some shelf life and all nice on the budget. Then...a year later....you have ASSETS.

Now...just because it's Golden St...don't think just having ASSETS means you gotta go nuts trying to get rid of them. Assets can be good to keep and sometimes you can swap them and come out AHEAD.

The Spurs keep assets and the longer they keep them, the better it seems to work. The Pistons keep Players, but it is because they are NOT assets and short of a hit man,they ain't leaving.

Don't get players who ain't assets ,who you can't get rid of. Don't think that if you ain't payin a guy $15 mill...he's a scrub. Dumbest thing is to pay a guy $15 mill then figure out you could have done better for $5 million. That's like goin to a bar with a dozen buddies, ordering a round of beers for everyone and not only does it taste like the Ohio River...but they charged $25 per glass.

The Draft is the best tool to build a franchise,much as the classic skilsaw is the best tool to build a house. Damn...how is this not easy to see...it's like you get a shovel and a donkey, hike awhile and start diggin up gold nuggets. Only takes a few little nuggets and you made a profit.

Overpaying for over-rated stars? That's like buyin Faux Gold chains on shopping network and not knowin what Faux means. It means you got SCREWED....and not in a good way. In a Cell Block way.

Anyhow....I HOPE the Front office guys are not confused or fickle....or trying to copy the Isaiah knicks.
