Following his decision to play for Great Britain despite a wrist tendon injury, the Bulls General Manager Gar Forman, who called Deng in from holiday for a meeting earlier this month, is understood to have offered the Warriors Deng and the 29th pick in the NBA draft on Thursday for centre Andris Bierdrins, small forward Dorrell Wright and the seventh pick in the draft. The Bulls badly want the 7th pick to recruit a shooting guard to act as cover for Derrick Rose who will miss next season following ACL surgery.

27 year old SF hitting his prime, fantastic defender... and we get to offload Beans as well. Not bad at all. We might be able to trade our 29/30/35 up for a pick in the 20's to get a quality player.

This would be a great trade. Playoff team if healthy. Take picks and get harkless/white or melo. Melo ideally as backup C is questionable

Though I'd be inclined to swing for a Houston trade for their #14 and possible their #16 where we can find talent that can be just as effective as Deng.

What? If you think we can get talent at 16 that is as effective as Deng (which is ridiculous), then why not just hang on to the 7 and get much better talent?

Over Deng? Deng is a much better defender than Gay or Granger. It's not even close.

No way, imo. If this deal is actually on the table, you don't wait around for the possibility of cold feet or sense awakening. What if they are actively shopping, and get a better offer or simply don't like the way the draft plays out?

Take the deal, now.

Plus, Drummond is an f'n roll of the dice, and I mean like hopping the soft sixes and hoping they'll hit. There's simply no guarantee he'll ever be truly motivated, or talented enough to develop an actual game.

Just think about this:

If we get Deng and the 29th, then we basically traded Monta, Udoh, Wrong and Beans for Bogut, Deng, [RJ], the 29th and 30th picks

That's a god damn heist!! Especially since we were well on our way to losing our pick this year.

I'm pretty lukewarm on this offer... yeah, he's a very good F. But this draft has some really good prospects. If we can get into the late teens with the 29/30/35/52, I'd be much happier with this type of deal

Shocking. Unless we were to miraculously get MKG, this trade is an absolute win. Let's not be greedy for christs sakes. What prospect outside of MKG is really a better haul than Deng, and the 29th, AND ridding ourselves of Beans?

This is a hell of an offer. Deng crystallizes everything we're trying to do. I can't fathom anyone with a sensible mind not jumping all over this deal.

Ridding ourselves of Biedrins is cosmetic and slightly detrimental. He's still a backup C. Why wouldnt Jefferson be in the deal instead? Makes a ton more sense.

If we make that deal, we have absolutely no backup C. No backup PF, unless you consider Tyler one. Our backup PG is Jenkins. And we have 24m committed at the SF position. A lot of holes to plug with late 1sts and the MLE.

Jefferson - Dorell - 7/30/35 ------> Deng / Duhon / 19

Deng / 29 ------> Jefferson / 7

Duhon / 19 --------> DW / 29 / 30 / 35

Much easier to get behind something like that.

You don't think an O'Quinn and Ezeli combo, two guys who project to still be there at 29 and 30 would more than double the production we had from the corpse of Beans and J.Tyler?

Machado also projects to be there at 35 if not later -- a determined PG who really isn't that far behind Lillard, imo.
