Bring back Jack?

Post#1 » by cj03 » Fri May 17, 2013 5:25 am

Leaving salary aside, do you bring back Jack? On one hand, he can create his own shot, is a very solid midrange shooter, and has a decent handle. On the other, he has tunnel vision a lot of times, plays pretty craptastic defense, and chucks too much. My inclination is to not bring him back. I would love to find a guy who actually looks to create for others. If we could get more open shots off penetration/double teams, our offense would be pretty close to perfect. And Jack repeatedly killed us on D.

Leaving salary aside, yes.

Not leaving salary aside, because we can't actually do that, I'm not too sure. If there's a defensive 1 or a bigger 1 we could pick up I'd swap him...but it's slim pickins. I like Collison though, is he a FA?

Jack has won us games and he lost us games. He reminds me of Monta but minus all the flashiness and such. I think he's the best back-up right now. I don't wanna sign him if we have to use a lot more money but if he resigns at his current contract I think it's a steal. If we end up not resigning him, who do we get? A Prigioni type player? A Jason Kidd? Andre Miller? Not many good backups out there

Can we convince Calderon to sign for cheap? lol

Between Curry, Klay, Calderon, and Rush that's a heckuva lot of 3 pointers.

If we sign Calderon I will personally welcome him to the bay area with the biggest bag of flaming poop he's ever seen.

I'd hate to have him on this team.

yea...calderon plays no D. How about Lowry? He'll be a free agent...we could orchestrate a sign and trade or team option picked up and trade. He's kinda anti-Jack. Crappy FG% (40%~), but pretty good TS% (.55~), gets to the rim or shoots 3's, plays hard-nosed D, rebounds. He's pretty small though.

The Mavs have a few guys we can aim for. Brand, Wright, Collison and Beaubois are all FAs (last 2 are RFAs). If Mavs are looking to sign Dwight, I can see them being available. I would LOVE for Collison to be on the Warriors.

Well, if we use our backup PG alongside Curry a lot again, we'll definitely need someone who can defend both guard spots. Or maybe Jackson can use the backup PG like a backup PG...

Lowry has a Team Option according to HoopsHype.

This is assuming we let Jack walk of course. Though I'd rather let him walk than overpay him.

I wouldn't mind bringing Broken Wing back to the bay.

If we could get Collison I would piss myself. He's a starter on team's without a star PG.

We aren't going to have a shot at Jack, I think. Another team is going to overpay.

Collison is terrible, ill take calderone, But they will bring jack back, this entire team has a special chemistry and bond, even andris looks like he has fun with these guys. our chemistry has been a reason of our success, we've come all this way to mess these little things up could be big set backs.

Don't know if Jack and Landry come back, Myers is probably going to have to get creative in obtaining a backup 1 and 4 again. Sign one and acquire the other through trade like last offseason, plus the Warriors are more than likely getting Rush back into the fold. That could mean they could look for a guy that can run the offense for a bit with Rush as the backup 2. I wouldn't mind Jack back but it would definitely have to be for about the same price. Don't think he'll accept that.

Lowry has a TO of over 6, I believe, would have to be a guy the team trades for. Not a cheaper option but he'd be worth it.

They traded a pick for Lowry they won't cut him that would look even more awful than it looks now.

No. He had a hot start to the year and faded away big time.

Jack? He's had a good last three games and won us one. He's also been instrumental in Denver wins. There's only so much he can do without a healthy Bogut, Curry, Lee, and with an invisible Klay.

He could give up the ball earlier though.

Bring him back if we can get a reasonable contract. Of all the players, he seems to really soak up Oracle and loves to relate with our crowd. Love the way he made rounds around the court after the game tonight like a victory lap. Hope he's willing to take below his highest offer to stay here.

I'd offer monta 6mill for a 6th man role :D

20mins off the bench.

With an electric brain zapper every time he thinks about a long 2 or a 3.
Layups or pass, or 15 footers.

In seriousness,

If jack goes and we can't find anyone, I'd rather har Scott machado have a go than overpay.
