Going All the Way! We can do it.

Don't laugh.....we have the make up to get it done.....doesn't mean it will happen, but we have the right pieces.

If the team is completely healthy, then I think we have a realistic chance at going all the way.....big ifs I know.

But a healthy Bogut can handle anyone out there.....and a healthy Curry can keep us in just about every game....the depth is great and the addition of Iguodala gives us a legit defensive presence on the perimeter and also a safety valve playmaker.

Add to that our youngsters are a year older and presumably better...Klay can change games with the three and Barnes may jump into another level if the cards fall right.

The only downfall to this stuff is that Myers has made it tough on us Realgmers on making trade proposals and such..

I say longshot, but yes, for the first time in memory, I can't laugh off your statement. It's not impossible. This is a super solid team that should do decently in the regular season and be deadly on both ends of the court in the playoffs. Honestly I don't think anyone is going to want any part of this team in the playoffs, not even the elites.

Let's get this damn season started already!

It's not a longshot if everyone of our top6 stays healthy..but the odds of that happening are around 10% when you look at the recent history of Curry and especially Bogut (who happens to be our #1 impact player when he plays like he did in the Denver series and early on in the SA series)

Right now it is a basket full of good players. And Bogut is the key! If he can stay healthy,
the Warriors will be hard to beat. Curry-Thompson-Iguodala-Lee-Bogut are a great starting lineup. Barnes, Draymond, O'neal, TD make for a good bench too. Plus, when Klay decides to go for one of his 2 for 14 shooting nights, they can just run Curry, Iggy, Barnes, Lee and Bogut.

I'd agree. I doubt GSW can beat Miami or OKC in a series..but GSW got wins over BOTH...the past 2 years..and GSW is better now. Were GSW 100% against the Spurs? GSW might have made it to the finals.

I ...frankly...feel more optimistic about 2015. I think that's when we jell,as a team,and guys are hitting their peak.

OKC aren't that good anymore, we shouldn't be scared.. that said I think SAS are more beatable for us. We just need to avoid any of those teams til' WCF, obviously LAC and MEM will be tough, but I like our chances, especially if we get HCA.

My dream scenario.

1.Sas vs 8. Whoever 4-0
2.LAC vs 7. Den 4-1
3.GSW vs 6. Hou 4-2
4. OKC vs 5.Mem 4-2

2nd round... 1.Sas vs 4. Okc 4-3 / 2.Lac vs 3.GSW 3-4 :) WCF SAS vs GSW. Golden State in 6.

OKC won 60 games last year and you think they'll be 4th in the West next year? if you are incapable of disagreeing respectfully, do not post.

You think that Bogut isn't a top 10 center? personal attack deleted.

OKC got worse.. I see them winning 56games this year. LAC 58-24 GSW 57-25.

Where did Bogut come in to this? And when did I say he wasn't a top 10 center?

I think it's very possible that OKC falls back a bit. Westbrook is coming back from injury and when I tore my meniscus I remember my knee swelling a lot from either practicing and playing games every day. It's hard to be at full speed when it is swollen. I think he'll be the Westbrook of old after the Allstar break though.

Lamb is a solid player but he will need time to adjust. Like Westbrook I see him as having a strong second half though.

My biggest concern for them is Brooks players can start to tune out coaches after a while.

All this being said OKC is the only team in the West I don't think we'd be favored against or think we have at least a 50% chance of winning. Playoffs are all about matchups and their lengthy perimeter players will cause problems for our perimeter players on both ends of the floor. We'd need Bogut to be healthy and much improved on offense for me to be confident in our chances against them.

No other team out west has multiple shot creators on the wings that can hurt us since Dre can lock up Harden, Parker, Conley or Cp3. Crawford is solid but he's streaky and I think our other defenders are good enough that Crawford wont consistently go off. Spurs have Ginobli but he currently looks like a shell of himself and will be even a year older. Blazers would be an interesting matchup but overall I don't think they have enough to get out of the first round.

Assuming everyone stays healthy (which is the only way we can go all the way)...

We seem to have almost all of the pieces one could ask for.

The defense anchor C, the lockdown perimeter defender, the offensive PF, the all-star scorer/playmaker, the sharpshooting 2 who can D up on occasion, and a solid bench with a stretch 4, a 4/5, a legit 5, and another good perimeter defender in Douglas.

Only thing that's missing, IMO, is a nice backup 2 (a la Rush), but no one is perfect, and I think our team structure is very complete with some good talent all around

western conference:

okc -
they will rule the west for the forseeable future. Durant is the second best player behind LeBron, and westbrook is a great compliment. those two and ibaka are among the best nba cores.
luckily for us, they have a cheap dare I say cohan-esque type of front office. depth is an issue for them.
Trending down

SA- Duncan and manu another yr older. Parker is still a beast and khawhi is only improving.
But they haven't added any good players, and I do not see leanord being able to take over the scoring load if TD starts to show his age.
Trending down

HOU-
Let's face it, Dwight and harden is as formidable duo as any in the league.
Both guys are perennial all stars. Parsons is set to make under two million combined for the next two years.
they have a great GM with great vision, and have a great core to build upon.
Trending Up

LAC-
CP and BG is one of the great duos in the league bar none. I think their wing situation of Dudley and Reddick is vulnerable (but still better than butler/green), and they still do not have a deep frontcourt situation as of yet.
They have great bench depth with Barnes, JC, and collision, but there aren't enough minutes for all of them.
Trending Up

GSW -
Solid top to bottom in the starting lineup.
Barnes is still improving, gets a chance to be one of the best 6th men in the league, and more shots and touches in the second unit.
Health is a concern, and I think that they may be too perimeter oriented to be a true contender. But AI is a huge addition, curry is showing he can still play, and bogut will be most likely healthier than he was last season.
trending up

MEM-
probably the best frontcourt in the nba right here, with good depth with davis and kosta off the bench.
I think their perimeter game is a major weakness.
Prince and allen cant score and are on the older side, and they do not have a dynamo off the bench to make up for it. Conley to me is overrated. He is just a solid PG, but some make him out to be an all star player.
Trending down

MINNY- Love and pekovic is a great frontcourt kevin martin will help them with their largest weakness, perimeter scoring. I see them in the playoffs this season
trending up

Portland
Swapping hickson with lopez was good, and lilliard will be a beast in his second season
trending up

Denver -
Mcgee and faried frontcourt with hickson and mozgov is not scaring anybody
for the first couple months, their wings will be Fournier, chandler, and foye. That is horrible
Lawson is a good PG, but he cannot carry that hot mess mentioned above by himself, and neither will nate.
Their best chance is getting gallo back, but the team's weaknesses still remain:
No true go-to scorer (gallo and Lawson as the go-to guys? yuck.), and the front court is questionable both on offense and defense.
trending down

DAL-
Dirk and crew have a decent team, but defense is an issue, and marion and dirk (and vc) are both on the wrong side of 35.
Trending Down

NOP-
I see a potentially competitive team.
Davis a beast, and their backcourt went from
Vazquez & Gordon to holiday and tyreke with Gordon off the bench.
Big holes at SF and C
trending up

SAC and Jazz - tank city

Talent wise we can bang. Coach is the real hole though for championship. We don't have a LeBron or a league favorite KD to offset a coach (ie Spoelstra/ brooks who are both extremely overated).

It's a superstars league...not just a players league. Steph is a star, but not a superstar. That's not discrediting him as there aren't too many superstars in the league. Lots of stars, just not that many superstars.

We got a bullseye on our backs now. Teams are gunning for us. We aren't under the radar anymore.

spurs are without a superstar ...they do fine by playing defense. sharing the ball and great shooting

If Bogut is healthy and feeling well and so is Curry and Iguodala, then they could carry a team into the Finals....Bogut is the key and Iguodala takes some of the pressure off of Curry.

Not saying its bound to happen but could.

Not missing at all. Iguodala is your starting-quality new backup 2 when needed. Between Barnes, Thompson, and Iguodala at the 2/3 positions, there are plenty of minutes needed to be taken. They all can and probably should play around 30 minutes each (90 minutes), and there's 96 minutes available at those 2 positions. Barnes may play a few minutes at PF, but I see Iguodala playing maybe around 10-12 mpg at SG. It's going to require some creative juggling of minutes and substitution patterns from Mark Jackson to make everything work right, but the options are there to make it happen.

The Spurs have two superstars. Don't try to fool yourself into thinking Parker and Duncan aren't both top 10-15 players in this league.

This is the first offseason I can remember that I genuinely believe the warriors have a chance of going deep in the playoffs. Hopefully the fact that Curry and Bogut both are able to continue to rehab instead of recovering from surgeries will keep them on the court this year. I cant wait to see our defense on the court with a hopeful healthy Bogut and the addition of AI. If our youngs continue to develop and the new free agents can jell with our core I think the sky is the limit. Can we just START the season already?
