So according to the wiretap if the Bulls cut Rajon Rondo the Bulls would like to pursue him. That's some outside the box thinking.

However, it seemed like consensus opinion that Ball/Russell weren't quite a fit together.

Our old friend Schlenk's first move...getting rid of Dwight Howard like a bad habit. Swap 2nd rounders (ATL moved down 10 spots in the draft), Marco Belinelli, and take on a bad Miles Plumlee contract.

Everything I have heard is that Russell was not valued in the league. He has shown glimpses but most front offices seemed pretty low on him. I don't think he had great trade value and think this was actually a really good deal for the Lakers. It gives them an amazing chance to build a core of LBJ, George, Ball, and Ingram. If they don't like Ball and Ingram, those 2 could be packaged for a third star to put around LeBron and George.
P George is under contract. a #27 is not much of a trade chip. LeBron? LeBron is real loyal to Cleveland/Akron and the CAVS were in the finals 3 yr now.. while the lakers wander aimless. Tough enough to get PG or LeBron. Both? Not at ALL probable. Further... how many NBA games have Ingram + Ball played? Zero?

This is the MOST BORING OFFSEASON for GSW fans. Guess the other teams have to be in the news since they are going crazy with off season moves.

Great time to be GSW fans after 4 decades of stinking.

When they play the Warriors, whichever one Curry is guarding will be the one who attacks.

So Warriors won't be hiding Curry on Beverly any more. Maybe they put him on Ariza, who may be a FA.

But yeah it doesn't necessarily make the Rockets better.

Windhorst has said the salaries don't work, so other moves have to be made for CP3 to be a Rocket.

Meh, Curry can handle someone like CP3 (on and off the ball).

CP3 and Curry will cancel each other out, similar to Kyrie/Curry or KD/Lebron cancelling each other out. It's what the other pieces do.
I'm still trying to figure out how they trade for Paul George because I ain't taking back Ariza, Eric Gordon, and whatever else they have.

About time NYK cut of that pot smoking GM thinking he got himself a Super Team. He made it worse than before.

I actually don't understand the move to be honest. Haven't the Rox and D'Antoni transitioned Harden into a full time PG? Even if he's not an official PG, he needs the ball to be effective, and dominates the usage heavily for that team. What does bringing in another ball dominant PG that is ageing do for them? They should have used the assets they gave up for Paul on trying to acquire a better fit next to Harden in my opinion.

I'm sure Morey's analytics will prove me wrong somehow, but I still can't see how this vaults them up as a team. They still have no defensive length and practically no bigs.

Paul also takes a lot of midrange shots. He can shoot the 3 but a lot of his bread and butter is 10-15 feet jumpers. That's a Morey no-no.

Houston wants to be Cavs West. Have 2 guys take turn holding the ball for 23 seconds.

Watching ESPN, are you kidding me? Doc River did not pull a trade that would have landed Melo for Crawford, Austin River package? Doc did not respond, so Jackson pulled the offer.

Hence, the team lost respect for Doc. Now we now know why everyone is jumping ship not named River.

Not to mention the spacing they have lost now if Harden is dominating the ball. Morey might be trying to make Harden more efficient by getting the ball out of his hands more.

Strange deal IMO.

Disagree on Curry and Paul cancelling each other out. Curry has completely outplayed Paul head-to-head over the last several years...it hasn't even been close tbh. Kyrie is a much more dangerous player at this stage in his career and gives the Warriors a lot of issues.

Kyrie and Steph are not canceling each other out. Not even close. At the same time LeBron is still better than Durant by a healthy margin.

I'm sure they will find a way to co-exist on offense. But who is going to play defense now?
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

So why did GSW win the finals? Because the other pieces played consistently better than the Cavs other pieces.

Curry has sonned Chris for years now, pretty much since the ankle breaker+midrange jumper play. There was a time when Chris could rough Steph up and get under his skin, but that time was about a year removed from his first MVP. I don't think they cancel each other out even from a production standpoint. Warriors still crush that team and Beverley was actually the best Curry defender left in the NBA.
