I can't even. Forget everything I thought I knew about his FO. They are just as stupid as the rest of the GMs I make fun of.

if we give Barnes 20m and batum is 24m... i dont know what to say.. i think we put everything on hope to sign durant and ignore all other options.

Can we save the whining till AFTER we give Barnes 20m+?

I'm simply saying, for a front office who projects itself as being so cutting edge and head and shoulders above the rest this would completely disprove that and show we are just as stupid as a lot of the teams I previously felt comfortable talking down to. In which case I hope the Solomon Hill rumors are true. I'd rather Hill for 13-14mil.

If Rush can out perform Barnes in this starting lineup than who can't? Hill certainly could, and for 10-12m cheaper we can sign 1, hell maybe 2 veterans who want to play for a ring. or if we move Bogut we could wind up getting a big C upgrade with the money saved ie Pau or Horford

The point is you're getting all worked up BEFORE there is even a reason to get worked up. Nothing has happened yet.

I agree. Our focus should be on improving our bigs. I don't see Barnes as a difficult player to replace.

Be glad he is not getting $128m / 5 like Beal which Barnes is eligible for.

The max we might need to match is shorter with lower raise - ~$94m / 4

Odd chance we get a discount for $80m / 4

Ian Mahinmi or Pau Gasol would be atop my list.

As for a Barnes replacement, I'd aim for Allen Crabbe, Marvin Williams, Moe Harkless or even Matt Barnes. I wouldn't pay any of these guys more than 14-15mil per.

Hill signing $52M/4 in NO by the way.

And rumor is Portland is going after Gasol.

I hope Durant makes up his mind fast or we're going to be left with limited choices. Then again, some of these contracts are insane right now, so maybe Durant holding everything up is saving us from some bad decisions.

Durant won't make his decision at least until Monday probably.

I hope they're in contact with other players as well, and aren't putting all of their eggs in the Durant basket.

At the rate teams are paying for nobodies, all the people you mentioned are going to get at least 14 million...and that is crazy
