This is basically Durant/Curry duo appreciation/cheering/stats/whatever thread.

Anyone else feeling constant goosebumps by just watching these pics, guys? :o I honestly can't contain my excitement. :o I literally can't. I want to watch them play NOW!!! Like is this real life? This is too good to be true. God blessed us so much and let us witness this beyond beautiful thing happening. I can't thank God enough tbh. 2 amazing superstars with down to earth personalities who play beautiful, fluid/elegant, skillful dominant style of basketball playing together. Both are beyond awesome players and this is an unheard level of awesomeness when you see them together.

One day you might tell your grand kids (or kids) about the utter greatness of this beautiful amazing duo (if they stay healthy). Hopefully God bless them with health. That's the most important thing of course.

If there are any more pics or any videos, feel free to post them in this thread as well.

I love our duo, but we are a lot more than just Durant and Curry. I think Green took a huge step up in his game and his overall impact to the team is as vitally important. Thompson gets the most criticism of the stars, but we don't get past OKC without Klay's out of his mind game, as well as stepping up in Curry's absence. Iguodala comes off the bench, but the finals MVP a season back is also crucial to our success and maybe a little more this season leading the bench squad.

And it's going to be like when Barnett drones on about Connie Hawkins :-)

I hear you though. This is by a sober estimate 2 of the top 3 players in the world on the same team. When is the last time that happened?

Kobe and Shaq?
David Robinson and Tim Duncan?
Magic and Kareem?

Not sure any of these actually qualify. I don't think Pippen was ever a top 3 talent in the league.

To add insult to the next two starters are All-NBA players and our starting center is pretty damned solid.
The bench is possibly thinner than last year but we still have the main contributors in Andre and Shaun and David West might well prove to be better than Mo.

We're looking absolutely fantastic.

Brent Barry said, "Kevin Durant was number one in post play last season, and David West was number two."

I don't have the relevant stats to back that up. Will try to look those up later. But that is literally the one thing our offense was missing last year. Other than Shaun Livingston of course.

Barry makes his comments right at the end. But nice to see Roz again. Love her.

Worth noting that most of that post play is Dirk-style, out of the high post or fadeaways from the short corner IIRC. He's not a low-post move into countermove guy like Jefferson or Diaw or West.

True but it's more efficient offense than what was there before and creates more space for lights out shooters Thompson and Curry or vis versa.

True but you have to have KD to make it a good shot. Luckily only one team has that guy now.

My has time flown by, as this is something literally unprecedented in the league with two future HOF top 3 players in the league.

He takes the dirk style shots because he's just as tall. Its playing to his strengths. Looking at the video, KD can do anything. That's why hes the deadliest all rounded scoring weapon in the league today. He can post, spin and dunk (1st move). He can post, step through ala jordan/kobe's pet move, layup.

When it comes to offense, KD can do it all. Thats why he is KD. He is a freak. He has the height of a centre with the speed, handles and athleticism of a guard, and the shooting touch of a long range bomber. He was the greek freak before the greek freak, except KD can hella stroke the ball from deep.

and now he's our only guy who has low post moves. It was a huge hole that has now been filled.

I never knew that. Didn't watch him much before...not like he played on my favorite team or anything.

It's not like he CAN'T play in the low post, just saying it's not something he does much. Most of the guys that he's posting in that video (Tayshaun, Batum, etc.) are a lot more wiry than bulky, which means that his high center of gravity isn't as much of an issue. Against guys that are a little heavier and bulkier he sometimes has real trouble backing down, which is why he uses the fade more. It's not a skill problem—it's basic biomechanics.

Be aware that Durant is our shiny new toy. So please forgive some of the over the top posts you may read here. No one should question your fandom or thoughts on everything Durant, being that you've closely observed him over the last 8 years. We have some very excited Warrior fans who want to give their 2 cents on Durant and his game....as they see it.

Please keep stopping by, or regularly posting though. Its great to have your perspective, and also always nice to have another knowledgeable poster on the board.

West seems to spend most of his time in the midrange area shooting 327 of his total 470 shots from that area. So I wouldn't really call him a low post guy either. More of a mid post guy. He had 131 shots in the low post area, but some of those shots were most likely layups, or something like that.

There's not many "Low Post" Players through out history, a lot of players worked from the mid post because getting low post position is exhausting. Jordan, Hakeem, David Robinson, Ewing all worked from the mid post area. Very few players were able to carve out position like Shaq as a true low post threat.

So low post/mid post it doesn't really matter as a long as you're efficient from where ever you set up. It's the threat of you scoring that forces the defense to adjust that makes great players. Just like Steph is anomaly because he's so efficient from the arc that it forces defenses to adjust but instead of opening up jump shots, Steph opens up driving lanes to the rim.

Great to see you here, my friend. I think I had a nice discussion with you some time ago. I hope you are as curious as me to see how GSW will look with Durant. It's gonna be really interesting imo.
