Should we tank?

With the Pelicans getting Cousins they are turning into a better version of the Grizzlies with the big 3 Cousins, Davis and Holiday that should be better than Gasol Z-bo and Conley.
At this point if they are getting the 8th seed we could be in trouble because we're to light in the frontcourt to bang with them, unless Javale becomes prime Dikembe. Draymond has always had problems against Davis and with Cousins around you can't even double him.
If we tank to the 2nd seed we should still keep the homecourt advantage against Cleveland but hopefully avoid the Pelicans (who are going to lose against the better equipped Spurs).
Going against the Spurs without hca would be tough, but I like our chances more than against the Pelicans.
I say let's wait to see how the Pelicans play and if they are really that good (remember that Gentry knows everything about us) be ready to stealthily tank.

No. They have no one for Klay, hell you can argue they have no one for Kevin either the team is very low on talent outside the 3 players you listed.

It depends just how dominant they look. If they just start running people over I think its worth having the discussion. But lets hold off on crowning them our biggest foes.

Their front office has never looked very smart, but if they manage to trade Terrence Jones for a good defensive SF things can get very ugly.
Their first priority is to get rid of Asik though. If they open max contract space this off-season they can sign Chris freakin Paul and it will be a LeBron-like "coming home" signing that would turn them into a monster.

#1 seed throughout the playoffs is the goal. GS can beat anyone but NO may be a tough out. Crunch time GS can put hopefully DPOY Green on Cousins and Durant on Davis. Plus Zaza and Jevale.

No and Denver still has a very good chance to keep the 8th seed.

Pelicans will be scary for anyone in the playoffs if Davis & Cousins learn to make it work quickly. What a great trade for them.
They can't beat dubs in a series but boy will they give us a run

The underrated aspect is they will start Holiday, Moore, and Hill who are all good defenders. They also got Casspi who can drill the 3 and is underrated. They still have a lot of bigs and not enough wings.

I'm in the minority that thinks this big headed front court 2 by Nawlins won't work. No need to panic, our juggernaught is still far superior and no need to panic.

Right?
This thread has to be tongue in cheek, or a symptom of someone who needs to be worried.

Get what you can for Steph, KD and Klay while you can. I like this deal
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=j5akmxbSeriously though, no chance Kings can keep up with your scoring. Maybe if Draymond got hurt...

so basically, our scorers need to score threes. Offensively there is little change to our game, since we don't really attack the basket anyway. We need to try to speed things up and they will try to slow it down so we have to be prepared to play a grinding style. If they manage to get better defending threes, look out.

Thank goodness we have time before the trade deadline, in order to trade Curry, Durant, Draymond, and Klay in order to stock up on 2023 draft picks, since New Orleans is going to dominate the NBA for the next 6 years at least.
To the actual question - seriously? Of course not. It's not clear at all how Cousins and Davis will play any perimeter defense (when they're both on the court, at least one is going to have to be roaming the outside), they have zero depth (particularly in our area of strength - the wings), and are they really going to work from a chemistry perspective?
Yes, they have a lot of talent, but let's see if it works.

They have what...25 games to figure out how this works?? Not enough time when you're fighting for the 8th seed. They may not even make it the way Denver is playing
Next year is when teams will have their hands full

We are 4th in the league in points in the paint as of today:
https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/points-in-paint-per-game..... though much of that is coming from fast breaks and cuts, rather than a player who drives a lot. (Yes, Durant, Curry, and Klay all drive a couple of times per game, but that's not the essence of their game.)
We'll be fine.

Throw in Rozier, and I'm probably in for this.

That's a deal breaker. Goatzier isn't going anywhere.
