The NBA regular season schedule is merely a formality.

Re: Warriors 2017/2018 schedule
I tend to focus on the back end (and yes, that was a pun).
In March + April, we've got the Spurs twice, Minnesota once, and OKC once. Not a single other team that I expect to be a serious challenge or to wind up above #5 seed in the Playoffs. Exactly 10 road games and 10 at home, although MN, OKC, and one Spurs game are on the road. No reason at all we can't finish 18-2 or better if we need to. Furthermore, up to 10 of those 20 games are likely to be against teams who are out of the Playoff hunt by then, and even more could be against Playoff teams locked into a particular slot, so we could have some easy wins that allow rest for the starters. I like it!

Oh, and also only a few long trips in that last 20 games -- only 2 road games against the Eastern Conf., one at the end of a three-game East Coast trip that begins in February, and one on a two-game trip (Indiana & OKC). Western teams (esp. West Coast) always log more miles than Eastern teams, but March & April look good for us.
