He would become one big freckle.

(total aside, I think that's the first time in my life I've written "freckle" ... that's an odd word)

It's good to see Nico getting some minutes where he doesn't feel the need to produce to show he deserves to be on the floor. He looked rushed so often when he got in the game last year and would fumble the ball away on breakaways etc. I believe he is restricted next season, correct? Maybe keep him on another 2-way?

The opposing teams will be blinded on defense. If he gets lighter he may go translucent and the defense won't even be able to see him.

That is some serious accusations of circumventing the salary cap isn't it?

As far as I know, as long as there is no legal standing the Spurs offering long and large coaching/front office contracts to current players is within the rules. Supposedly Timmy took less as a player because he knew he'd get the "lost" money after he retired by working for the team. Sure enough since he retired he's had various roles around the team every year and manages to not put in much time doing them. Coach and front office pay doesn't count against the cap. I think Curry might want a lifetime role with the Warriors :)

rough news for the Clippers, most likely out 9-12 months I'm guessing. I wonder how this will impact the Warriors when it comes to free agency?

^^ One argument for having a deep roster as opposed to a top loaded one.

Why would this impact the Warriors? They'll still have 100 million on the books when Kawhi hits free agency and Curry will have to be re-signed at the same time.
Unless they can offload or s&t Wiggins (who will be in the last year of his contract) I don't see them making moves, so it's basically the same situation they're in right now.
Btw I don't think Kawhi will leave Los Angeles after all the drama he went through to get there.

Last year free agents like Batum, Gasol and Ibaka chose teams over the warriors after Klay went down. Potential free agents who were interested in joining the Clippers may chose the warriors this season now that Kawhi may be out for the season.

Ok this makes sense. It would be nice to snag Batum, he's a good fit for our team-

Yep, more & more looks like rosters need to be ready for "battle of attrition" type seasons.

You really can’t have a deep roster once a player gets a super max. Or certainly when two players are making the max or super max.

You need ring chasers taking minimal salaries and or young players really balling out on their rookie deals.

Need a hard cap, no exceptions, and no maximum contracts really. Then a few players might make more, but many more would make less.

As long as we're at it, 20 man rosters, no player allowed to play more than 72 games, and replace the lottery with teams from worst to best drafting another team whose draft pick they get the next year, and add a 4th ref, and make the 3 point line the same distance at the corners, and bring it back to gather step-step-travel rather than the gather-step-step-travel it is now, and call the foul on the offensive player when they are the ones who create the contact.

Honestly I'd really like to see that NBA.

What obvious thing did I miss?
