From everything I've heard about the Mavericks internal issues, it may not be a Luka-vs-Carlisle thing (or at least not that alone) but also the complications of plunking Cuban's newest BFF, Voulgaris (professional gambler) into the middle of the business and team decisions, and also a long history of bad organizational behavior, including numerous allegations of super-unpleasant office culture. (The Terdema Ussery stuff is pretty horrifying.)

Cuban was the bright, shiny "players" owner for a while, but the dysfunction in that organization is so long and pervasive that the shine is gone. Talking about Kidd's fame exposing him as the asshat he always was, Cuban's tenure as owner has pretty much done the same.

The thing is, most owners are asshats. Some just like to pretend that they're cool. The smart ones stay in the background and let smart basketball people make the decisions. I mean, even Robert Sarver, as asshatty of an owner as there's ever been, figured out to hire smart people, get out of the way, and just sign the damn checks.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

Forget Kidd for a second. Am I the only one that finds it ridiculous that the coach, Dirk and the owner of the organization flew all the way to Europe to sign the extension? If you want to pull your pants down and bend over, I don't see a better example of this than what they did for a 22 year old. Certainly just going to feed into his already huge ego.

I mean - he's a billion dollar asset. if I was trying to close a billion dollar sale the least I would do is not ask them to fly to me lol

Of course it's ridiculous, to say the least.

They all went to him like desperate clowns. Dude is already yelling at a old vet coach on his 3rd season on when he can call TOs, that's who you want to bend over to already and tell him to completely run the team. That's how you get walked over.

PatBev, Rondo and Oturu to the Grizzlies

Bledsoe to the Clippers

I'm betting that Rondo gets bought out. The 'we need a handler' people should be all over this

Anyone listen to the KD/Draymond interview? How people can defend what a disaster of a coach Kerr is is beyond me. His inability to manage grown men and being this awkward weasley kiss-ass lost us KD

Yeah, terrible coach. Bring back Mark Jackson, he would have prayed it all away.

Jackson (and probably half the country's high school coaches) wouldn't have choked away a 73-win team

Kerr is trash

Oh, yeah, Jackson. Hilarious. Teams are just lining up to hire him.

Kerr is trash? Why can we call a coach trash on this board, but I can't call a post trash for the same thing? Or can I? Let's find out.

Jester, your posts on Kerr are trash.

Yeah too bad we didn't hire someone like Kidd.

Sure he would have been down with the brothers.

Using the latest episode of Gossip Girlz as evidence for why Kerr is a bad coach is crazy.

What basketball related topic don't KD and Draymond have a strong opinion on?

Bobcats sign Rozier to a 24m/year deal...

What are they doing? They finally hit on a franchise player in LaMelo, and they have so far kept their short SG Rozier, drafted a taller Monta, inked an injury-prone Hayward to a massive deal..

Flash forward to 2023 offseason where LaMelo won't want to sign an extension with them
