If Cousins is awesome in the second half, which teams can offer him a max deal next offseason? And yeah I get that we can;t know for sure right now - just wondering which teams are well positioned to have max FA signing space next offseason.

Dallas is the obvious one. Lakers, clips, bulls, knicks and nets could all make sense.

Dallas could be filthy depending on how Luka develops... he'll need some time to adjust to the NBA pace since he's not an athletic scorer, but that kid's going to be a superstar. Surround him with Cousins, DeAndre and DSJ and they might be able to do some damage in a couple of years.

I suspect LeGM will be going for Cousins and KD if that is the case next summer if no all star joins them this summer.

Maybe I'll be wrong, but just don't see it with Doncic. So many are labelling him with superstar, but I just don't see it. He'll be good, but I really don't see what others are selling about his super-stardom. He looks like a Gordon Hayward type AT BEST if everything works out for him for mine.

I don't see it either and why would you want to pair Jordan and Cousins together.

I see him heading to the Lakers next summer. Rondo/KCP's 1 year contract is 21 million. I suspect a youngin and maybe 1 pick with Deng removes another 20+m. They will figure out a way to get 2 all stars with Lebron next summer if they don't get 1 this time around. Knowing LeBron, he will go after 2 of 3 from the Warriors next summer, Klay, Boogie, and KD.

I'd personally love if the Warriors go after Rondo next summer if he accepts lower wages.

Edit: Floppy, I am an idiot. Looks like I've responded twice. Back to drinking more coffee, looks like I need it...

I am glad the Warriors kept Cousins away from other teams, particularly the Celtics. Healthy Cousins playing for another team might have been able to exploit a lack of size weakness on the current Warriors. If the Warriors had to play Curry or Durant Injured the Warriors would be vulnerable to a good team plus Cousins. Get that 3peat.

Chances are he's never close to 100% again. But ... we'll see.

Yeah, probably not 100....good thing his game isn't predicated on tons of athleticism. He's a calculating post player. He is a stand still jump shooter.

I see many rebounds that will be kicked out to fast breaks that end up as a Demarcus trail 3.

It's DISGUSTING. I am disgusted with myself but I feel so DAMN GOOD at the same time.

Remember reading your post last July and it summed up my feelings perfectly, though cautiously optimistic, waiting to see how his achilles held up. If he can make 1/3 of his threes (he averaged at least that the three previous seasons) and give us some above-average defense in the playoffs against the opposing center, queue us up to pay Pat Riley some royalties.

I really wish we could just give Boogie some of the money Durant is making for next year when KD leaves. Too bad it doesn't work that way.

What are the odds he comes back at whatever we can pay him? I have no clue what that salary is tbh.

Warriors can offer Cousins $6.4M. Will he look for more somewhere else? Depends how much he likes money.

He's only back at price like that if no teams were willing to offer a big money long term deal, and he thinks he can continue to get healthier and prove himself in one more season. But I think some team will ink him this off season.
