Could have been worse, DLo could be making what Jamal Murray will be making.

D'Lo is 23 years old and already an All-Star. He could fit very well in Warriors system. When Klay comes back the shooting will be incredible.
Warriors can try to get the best out of him this season and then when Klay is back either keep him if he fits or trade him for another young player.
This is the market price for Russell, unless he's alienated from the team, which I don't expect at all, he will be an asset.

Even with Klay back, you can stagger Steph, DLo and Klay to each play 36 minutes per game with Klay taking 12 minutes at the SF position. Small ball lineup would have sick shooting.

It might be better for Klay in the short term to play a bit more small forward anyhow. Guarding quick little guards constantly should be on the back burner for a while until Klay is fully back.

Beverley 3/40m, wow. Wonder if that moves the needle for Kawhi?

After the things some Raptors fans did, cheering KD getting injured, accosting Curry's mother, etc.

Hope he bails on them.

Warriors dumped Napier and Graham onto Minnesota. I think they were making $1.9 and 1.6 million.

So purely a cap move?

Or do they think they can find cheaper players who will be no worse?

Chris Haynes

@ChrisBHaynes
Free agent Jordan Bell has agreed to a guaranteed deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, agents Aaron Mintz and Michael Tellem of CAA told Yahoo Sports.

I believe this was solely a cap move to get as far away from the hard cap as possible, most likely to create space for Looney.

Not gonna lie, I laughed at the fact they had to specify the contract is guaranteed like it's an acomplishment.

Against Toronto Klay distinguished himself as the teams best defender against Kawhi. I think the back half of Klay's career will be as a SF.

Listening to some sports talk today I was surprised by all these guys saying our run as a contender is officially over. Didn't we just run through the top two teams out West without KD? Didn't we almost pull out the Championship till Klay went down? We have 4 all-stars, since when is a team with 4 all-stars ever not a contender? Teams don't even post up anymore. Are you telling me any of these teams want to get into a shootout with us? Richard Jefferson was the only guy I heard say you just have to plug a roster spot or two.

Understand the need for room below the hard cap, but would have liked to keep Napier as a solid backup. Still, keeping Looney is more pressing for sure.

Saying Russell is an all star is like saying Lebron played with all star Mo Williams I mean common man let's get real.

Return to Golden State Warriors
