QO for Cook made

Golden State extending a qualifying offer to Quinn Cook and the guard will become a restricted free agent, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

This has got to be about making KD happy.

That was my first thought as well. We also need bodies for this current season, so it might make sense now versus in other years.

Meh.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I can see the Warriors letting him go if anybody offers him more than the QO.

I think that's why we are seeing an influx of guards. We are trying to upgrade that position and or keep Cook at a low number.

Cook is serviceable for his Salary though so I don't mind.

I also think roster consistency and familiarity is a major key in selling KD and to a lesser extent Klay on returning. But also going into this season with depth and talent lacking at this point I think chemistry will be a strength on the court.

I don’t mind Quinn Cook on the team, I just don’t want him playing critical minutes deep in the playoffs. But that won’t be a problem this year.

Sounds like Klay is pretty much a done deal. I have no idea what selling points are of interest to KD.

I doubt Cook is going to be a reason for KD to stay.

He's looking to team up with Kyrie or Kawhi.

If playing with Steph and Klay isn't convincing him to stay, Quinn Cook will?

So if nobody makes an offer we have to guarantee Cook's contract. Is that right?

I think July 13th is the final day you can withdraw the QO.

As soon as he signs it (which he can do starting July 1) it's a guaranteed contract and he's on the roster.

With an implied no-trade clause without his consent. So, anyone looking at Cook as trade filler, guess again.

I hope all you Quinn Cook guys still feel the same about him after this year.

I'm not a Quinn Cook guy.

But he's a good shooter and really cheap. Hardly a problem to worry about.

He rarely hits the big shots. A lot of times, he can only play in garbage time or injury or foul trouble.

Even with the Warriors' injuries and Curry being in foul trouble early in the playoffs, he didn't hit enough to get regular minutes in the playoffs.

If our goal is to tank but keep the games competitive, then I agree, he'll be great for the team. I can't wait to see him off the team when they're serious about contending.
