Ron Adams to Stay with the Dubs

Don't know what his new "revised role" will be, but glad that the Secretary of Defense is staying. And he certainly has his work cut out for this season!

Ron waited to see what LAL’s final roster looked like lol.

Well played.

He watched some LeBron defense tape for the last couple of seasons, and then gave up on the idea.

When they started off trapping Kawhi so far out on the perimeter to start the finals it was pretty crappy but they adjusted on the fly and I thought it improved. I would not hold losing in the finals against Adams as much as the injuries and having the bench players need to contribute more than they could. Happy to have him back to work with our new young roster.

This news made my day today.

I think Adams loves teaching. The thought of all the young guys who will need shaping probably rejuvinates him just thinking about it.

The last couple years had to be a bit less for him as far as teaching. He had soamy vets and so few young guys to mold day in and day out.

Now these kids will be hanging on every word. He will fully command the room and he will take pride in all of the short leaps these guys take, and make, to carve out a niche in the league.

Yeah, the new folks on the board should be shooting off fireworks to celebrate Adams staying. This is a win for the Dubs.

Don't even talk to me about "defense in the finals". We had a patchwork team playing in weird combinations, half of them injured. Seriously, look back over the years at what Adams has done, not back ten minutes.

Might go down as the most underrated part of our summer. Glad he’s staying.

No one actually coaches LeBron in the first place. At least with the Warriors he's with a group of guys who buy in to your system and he's probably also excited to see a resurgence of Draymond now that KD's gone.

Sounds like the revised role is less travel and more player development.

Sounds good. Adams will turn 72 this year so I'm sure all the travel can get pretty tiring. Player development seems to be right in his wheel house and he will have a bunch of youngsters who should be eager to soak up his knowledge. Hoping he can instill a defensive mindset in guys like DLo, Poole, Paschall, Smiley, Spellman and WCS while continuing to help McKinnie and Evans grow and mature on defense.

I hope the staff changes some this offseason. Changes are good for the team. Need some more teachers.
