Would you trade Klay for Giannis?

Post#1 » by cdubbz » Fri Mar 6, 2020 6:45 pm

Seems to be a big topic on Twitter.

Are you willing to include Klay Thompson in a package to receive Giannis? I’ve come to terms that there’s no way the Bucks will accept Wiggins or Draymond UNLESS we landed the number 1 pick this season and the highest pick possible for next season.

For me my first instinct was hell no. I want splash bro’s to stay together their whole career and finish however they’re going to finish with Draymond.

Then I started to think that in order to keep the dynasty going you need to keep getting superstars. Giannis will carry the team for the next 10 seasons.

id trade klay, draymond, this years 2020, next years minnesota 2021 pick, 2021 pick swap, 2022 warriors unprotected pick, 2023 pick swap, every second round pick we received, and a 2025 pick swap for an extended antetokounmpo. i would also sign his brothers to contracts too. Id start curry and the 4 antetkounmpo brothers with wiggins as a 6th man.

Geeze it’d be hard to, but I guess you’d have to in the end. Giannis is some sort of alien cyborg monster as a player and young as well.

Why not? You could make a strong case for trading Steph for him too.

yes but it would be such a bittersweet and heartbreaking move. it would be a textbook "this is a business" type of moment, but emotions aside you're trading for a young MVP to add longevity to the championship contending window.

How about Giannis prove he can win a Finals first? Or just go to one?

Klay is one of my all time favorite players and he still has All-Star and likely All-NBA years ahead of him.

Still, this is a no brainer trade. Giannis is about to be back to back MVP, is widely considered the best player in the league, and there's a good chance he hasn't even hit his ceiling yet.

I'd have to think about this more. My initial thoughts are hell no because the whole point of Giannis would be to kick it out to Klay and Steph.

No but purely for sentimental reasons. I’m ok riding this core into the sunset even if they don’t get back to the finals.

Still have Curry as the threat from range, Wiggins as the slasher and corner 3 guy.

Feels like Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens. Giannis is so much more than BO, but dang...how many Klay Thompson's come along?

I agree. Shame on OP for making me feel these feelings.

We should blame Bob Myers for not drafting better recently giving us more / better assets to deal with.

We could have drafted Malcolm Brogdan over Damian Jones and Mitchell Robinson over Jacob Evans. Instead we got Dragan Bender and Ky Bowman with those roster spots.

Brogdan would be gone in a big deal by now and Robinson doesn't move the needle
