Lebron was in a tier of his own.
But <the bust Detroit took whose name escapes me>, Melo, and Bosh were still considered elite prospects.

So while Cade and Mobley are the consensus top 2, there are 5 elite prospects.

Glad we agree there’s 2 tiers in the top 5

Tankathon has Suggs #1 on their bigboard. He is playing on ESPN right now by the way http://www.tankathon.com/big_board

Suggs is good he’s probably 3rd for me

Suggs' offense and defense is at an elite level for a college freshman. He would be a dream addition to the Warriors but I can't see him falling out of the top 3.

Good chance Wolves are better next season.

Yep.

Plus, it's not like the lottery odds get better in 2022. If the Wolves have the worst record this year, there's a 60% chance we'll end up with the 4th or 5th pick, in what looks to be a 5-player draft. And if the Wolves have the worst record again next year (which, IMO, seems really unlikely to happen), we'd still have a 60% chance of getting the 4th or 5th pick, in what looks to be a weaker draft. The odds of ending up with a better pick / prospect in 2022 than we'd get in the 2021 draft is pretty low.

pretty much this, we need to be hoping we land the 4/5 in 21 more than the unprotected in 22.

also getting that extra year with Steph/Dray will be huge for the player.

Suggs at five would be killer.

He reminds me of Brandon Roy

Thats a really good comp. I saw nbadraft comped him to Jason Kidd. I think their comps are the worst.. the only thing that scares me about Suggs is his average wingspan...which isn't a knock at all

It could happen, but seems pretty unlikely to me. The maximum likelihood that the pick will be in the top-3 next year is just 40%. If the Wolves improve to even have the 5th-worst record, that percentage is down to below 30% - and you start running into a 60% likelihood that the pick ends up at #6 or worse.

It really does become a little bit of Russian roulette. I’ll take the #4 or #5 this year over a low chance of getting somebody who might be better than them - but a high chance of getting somebody worse than them. (After all, besides Holmgren, is there anybody in 2022 who projects higher than any of Cunningham, Mobley, Suggs, Green, or Kuminga?)

I'm starting to have some separation in my top 10.

1. Green
2. Cade
3. Suggs
4. Mobley

5. Kuminga

6. Johnson
7. Bouknight

8. Barnes
9. Sengun
10. Moody

Still have players I haven't seen or need alot more viewing though.

Realllllly want to get lucky and get that 4th pick. I really like Kuminga but that top 4 is ridiculous. And I could see any of those guys (maybe not cade) going in any order based on team preference and workouts. They all are studs.

Sounds like we should trade for Malcolm and get the kid some steroids.

I watch this and think "how do i have Mobley 4th?"...

Then I watch Cade, Green, Suggs and realize getting the 4th pick would cancel out any bad luck Warriors have had in the lotto over the years

We will gladly take whoever is left at the 4 spot.

Not to mention i'd be more excited about landing Kuminga, Johnson, or Bouknight than I even was with Wiseman (who i'm still a big fan of).

add in Kuminga and no matter if they land 4 or 5 there will be a quality player to pick. :meditate:

Totally, Kuminga is amazing. I do have him a step below the top 4 though. But if his shot starts falling he's an unreal modern day two-way forward.

Suggs did not look very efficient in Gonzaga's cakewalk win today. 6 points on 2/8 shooting, with 4 turnovers. Kispert and Ayayi took most of the shots and were much more reliable.

I would love Dosunmu with the Oubre (our own) pick. Dosonmu is a ultra high motor attacking point guard like Fox on Sacramento. Dosonmu is a lock to be a really good backup point guard if we got him with our own pick.

Corey Kispert is the guy where he just seems to be able to score so easy. Every time I watch Kispert it seems like he is just toying with the other team.

If we got Suggs and Kispert I would be pretty excited. Or Jalen Green and Dosonmu.

Looks like the NCAA season and the tourney won't change the early season rankings of prospect too much, unless something drastic happens in the next couple of weeks.

That drastic event wouldn't necessarily be some player really showing out. It could be a serious injury which knocks a suspect out of the lottery.

But the prospect rankings seem pretty much set now.
