Nobody is guarding KD an entire game.

Draymond shouldn't be the primary defender in any case.

Zach Lowe podcast talking to Schmitz and Givony.

They mentioned Melton possibly coming back.

Or Kings trading Barnes to move up from 9.

Think thats way out of our price range for the 7. My guess is that MEM is willing to let go of some cost-controlled role players and the 10, and thats about it. Which makes sense, we both have team needs that can only exclusively be met by each other:

We're probably the only team in the top 8 that will listen to a MEM offer, meanwhile there probably isnt another team in the top 12 that would be willing to give cheap, cost-controlled, solid rotational players to just move up to 7. So there should be some mutual interest, but we definitely wont be trading down until we're up at 7.

Agreed. I know KA is a pipe dream, but I'd take Bane and/or Tillman to drop to 10.

I definitely think Giddey is a smokescreen for the Grizz. My initial thought was that the trade up was for Moody, but they have Grayson and Bane, who do similar things. The above tweet about Franz makes more sense and if they want to move up for Franz they have to get in front of the Kings so they really only have us and the Magic to do so. Franz is really the only one that is set to be taken at 9 whereas pretty much everyone else is kind of fluid.

Bane and Allen are both pure SGs... so is Brooks. They don't have SF length anywhere, aside from Kyle Anderson. Moody would give them a lot more length on the perimeter. Moody makes more sense in that, if they bring him in, the PF position is manned by Clarke, JJJ, and SloMo, the C position is manned by Adams, Tillman and JJJ (maybe some Tillie).. but the SF spot? Its a jumble of SGs (Allen/Brooks/Bane) and one tweener F (SloMo).

Franz is someone who's probably another tweener more than a SF, but I dont know how many minutes theyll have for him at PF. So someone like Moody, who can be a full-time SF, seems to fit best. Thats why I also semi-buy the Kuminga love, just like I semi-buy the Franz love.. but dont buy it for Bouk (Ja, Melton, Brooks, Bane, Allen - not including Jones or even Bledsoe).

Is SGA really THAT good? That's a stars haul, not sure he's that.

Precisely. I want Rose/Mills for my backup point and my vet backup wing. KD is not walking GS door, meaning I need at least 2015 bench to contend. Draft is for the future and if they can help now a bit, that is an icing on the cake.

Yeah I heard that. Way earlier in this thread I proposed the exact same thing. Barnes and Wright plus maybe Moody at 9 would give us all the depth we need since all 3 could play 2 positions. 14 would just be icing on the cake and we could take a chance on a high upside project like Zaire or Jalen Johnson or even Kai.

Another version of that trade would be to get Barnes and Buddy, I think SAC would prefer to get rid of Hield's contract and save 18 mil. If that were the case, we could draft a pg, whoever is left between Giddey, Bouk or Mitchell. At 9, it's almost guaranteed one of them will be there.

I would really like to see Barnes come back and slide right back into his role from 2015.

I pretty much have given up on a superstar trade that actually fits.

I think these trades might be the best we can do, they give us immediate help and we still get to keep some picks to develop

Toronto sends Siakam, #4 pick (Warriors rumored to want Suggs at 4)
Warriors send Wiggins, Wiseman, #7 pick.
Thoughts...?

If that would have happened, GS would have been robbing Toronto blind and that would still be a huge understatement.
I doubt if GS adds #14, a couple of unprotected future 1sts, Pool and than some, that would be enough for Toronto to sign on that deal.

I just don't' get the "Siakam is a much better player" thing....
He's got 3 years on his contract, currently injured....horrible from 3 last year.
Yet any mention of Wiggins for Siakam and it's considered robbery lol

Next time someone laughs at that swap PLEASE tell me why he's dramatically better than Wiggins?

or are you laughing at

Wiseman and #7 for the #4????

I am not laughing, I value your opinion. But I do think that yes, Siakam is better than Wiggins. Not LBJ or Giannis better but better.
And yes, I believe currently Toronto will not give you #4 for Wiseman and #7.

I still believe in Wiseman but I am just a fan. For a team dealing for him, he's got to prove he is a real deal. If he does that, than it is the different story, right now his value is nowhere near that.

Who besides Luka is a better player to build around for the next 10 years?

Well Siakam’s best year he had a 9.3 win share and 2.4 box, while Wiggins had a 3.9(which was last year) and has yet to even post a positive box plus minus in his career. Their advanced stats are significantly different.

I thought this was interesting, would be great to get Ingles if the Jazz needed to shed $ in order to resign Conley. Would need to get a 3rd team involved though, and stacking salaries would be tricky.

Situations like this is where a TPE from an Oubre S&T would be useful!

any interest in Cam Reddish? He actually played with some fire in the playoffs when he came back from injury and hit some big 3's.

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/263491/Hawks-Take-Trade-Calls-On-Cam-Reddish
The Atlanta Hawks listened to trade offers for Cam Reddish at the trade deadline and are again listening now, sources tell The Athletic. The Hawks will enter the draft with the 20th pick and could use Reddish and that selection to move up.

Morey is wildin’ with desperation on these value asks for Simmons.

Unless Presti gets a lobotomy or something, Philly would be lucky to get more than 2 picks.
