I wonder how hard Myers will look at Bradley Beal now. The cost would be enormous.

Other teams have been looking for Klay, who needs few dribbles, defends 1-3, works hard offball, capable of explosions just off catch and shoot.

Gotta think Oubre is a no brainer at this point. He's not really a 3 pt specialist but he's only turning 25 in a couple of weeks and still has plenty of upside on both ends.

Our leverage is definitely decreased with Klay out. But who knows, sometimes teams just want to get a deal done to move salary or whatever.

Weren't any of those players anywhere near the players they were before the injury?

It'll be interesting to see how KD does this season.

wes matthews was about the same, Kobe was like 36 when it happened so he's not a great example, I would say Gay lost a step tho

I thought Wes Matthews lost a step too. He was quicker in Portland.

Klay is going to lose a step but offensively he'll probably be fine. He won't lose his shot. It'll likely be the defense that will suffer.

It sucks, but no time to cry about it...time to lick our wounds and get busy. Lacob/Bob already gave the signal with Oubre trade and more will follow hopefully.

He will come back eventually. I was hoping it would be this year to fight Lebron & The Lebronettes, but alas it will be postponed.

Klay will be alright, he got his bag. But competitive as he is, it's gotta be eating him alive not being able to come back this season after all the recup done.

Who cares about Klay's salary? We'd be way above the cap anyway, even if his contract was completely off our books. Klay's big salary is not hindering the W's in any way, shape, or form.

Klay will be fine. What will suffer is his first step, which wasn't exactly quick to begin with, and was entirely predicated on his lights out jumper, which will be unaffected. But dont expect to see Klay again until midseason next year

and his defense which is highly important... thats completely gone... his offball prowess him getting wide open, reduced stamina cant run around the court all game long getting himself open , cutting to the basket which he was so elite at... this will be diminished... i am a warriors fan but i am looking at reality here... this injury is terrible and hes recovering from a ACL tear... it makes me wonder if his body is breaking down

Yeah, thats not completely gone at all. And there is no correlation between the Achilles and ACL, as they should independently heal fine.

But I'm glad to be back on RGM and see these medical diagnoses.. how does this affect stamina? How does this affect his cutting? How is this indicative of the body 'breaking down'? If yall want to be Eeyore's thats fine, but leave medicine out of it please.. the only aspect you need to worry about with Klay is the quick step on offense, which never was that quick for him in the first place. While it would sap elite players at that level to something more normal, someone like Klay won't have it affect them as much. Defensively, Klay's quick feet (a product of the hip and leg) as well as his arm length, still make him a quality defender, though I wouldnt give him the John Wall's of the world as an assignment anymore

By the time he comes back, he will have been away from the NBA for 2-3 years.

So fitness may take awhile to return.

He'll probably practice for a couple of months before he's activated.

Fortunately for him, he's made plenty of money. Probably would rather be him than Oladipo.

My guess is that when Klay returns, he may be a JJ Redick type player. Still a dangerous catch-and-shoot marksman but no longer able to defend quicker, smaller guards. If that is his reality, we need to treat him as such and build the supporting pieces around him as if we had a Redick-type player on the team; take advantage of his strengths and find guys to help out with his weaknesses. Redick is not what Klay was, but he is still a useful piece for a contending team. Obviously the challenge is to find those supporting pieces with Klay's salary eating up so much of our cap space.

I think your in for a rude awakening if you think hes still going to be quality defender

He’s cutting, running around screens, switching to get open (huge part of him being such a great shooter is that he’s one of the best in nba history at this)...all of which rely on speed and quickness that will be destroyed by an Achilles year and an acl tear
