Extremely disappointing, but I'm coming to that realization also. These youngsters really need to step the f up. Poole's gotta improve on what he did at the end of last year, and Paschall cannot have a sophomore slump.

Wiseman's ability out of the gate will be a big factor too.

Why can't they sign Mannion to the league minimum? Is it because can't sign him to a multi year deal this way?

How did we sign the 2nd round pick contracts last year?

Second rounders get two-ways most often.

They want to use part of the MLE for Mannion so they can sign him to a longer deal, like they did with Paschall.

Well, we need to meet the conditions of our 2021 1st round pick to OKC by placing somewhere between 1 -20 and that makes us give up two 2nd round picks. We fall to bottom 10, we'll lose our 1st round pick, and I see that happening with the construction of our roster (up to this point).

Players I think we should go (or should have signed) for what we have available with DPE, MLE, and what's left of TPE:

Reggie Jackson (Backup PG)
Kyle Korver (Should come cheap and at a deep discount. One trick pony at this point of his career.)
GRIII (Solid contributor last season; Should bring him back -- if possible)

I like Mr. October since he can play both PG and SG as well as a little defense. E'Twaun Moore is another combo guard that can space the floor and play some defense. But we don't have the DPE yet; we just applied for it and it may take a few weeks before an approval is received. Not sure if guys like RJ will be around then. I'd like to get GR3 back on a vet minimum if he's willing to accept that; he may get a better offer elsewhere.

You have that backwards. Okc gets the pick if we have a top 10 record, 1-20 we keep the pick

You guys are tripping over each other by not recognizing that a bottom 10 pick and a top 10 record are the same thing.

Because what would be the benefit of carrying more? Its just extra luxury tax and less flexibility, especially when they can dump JTA or Mulder with no penalty. If those guys were significantly better than what was available when dumpster diving then I could see us holding onto them. But I'm not sure they are.

I have literally never seen Wanamaker play. In Myers I trust however.

He's a tough-nosed defensive oriented PG with a 2.5-1.1 assist-turnover ratio. He also shot 93% from the line.

Celtics fans are cheering the Teague over Wanamaker signing and I have no idea why. Teague is horrible. He defends like the smurfiest PGs in the league, -4.19 DRPM to Wanamaker's -1.87.

I am thrilled we ended up with Wanamaker instead of Teague.

I hope we grab a legit defensive forward, Torrey Craig would be great, and then keep one of Mulder or Ryan Taylor, whichever distinguishes himself in training camp, for our 14th and 15th roster spots. If we're going to compete for a top-4 playoff spot, we'll likely need more than 13 bodies.
