Seriously though, I forget whether there is top end protection on our pick. Can anyone confirm?

Minnesota pick = 1-3 goes to Minnesota; 4-30 it's ours. If the 1st option occurs, next year's pick is fully unprotected.

Our pick = 1-20 goes to us; 21-30 goes to OKC. If the 1st option occurs, our next year's 2nd rounder goes to OKC (if I'm not mistaken).

Not exactly what you asked, but I wrote it here for info purposes for someone else who might be reading in the future.

Duh. Not sure what I was thinking.

If Banchero is really 6'11'' I don't want the Wolves pick this year. Give me the unprotected pick in 22. They might hit that sweet spot of 7 or 8 and move up to the top.

Another MiN win. One more and they are tied with Orlando and Detroit. Very possible that 4-5 is ours.

OKC isn't winning another game this season. Need to update the ping pong ball odds with the 5th worst record.

2022 Minny 1st - 31.6%
2021 pick 4 - 10.5%
2021 pick 5 - 2.2%
2021 pick 6 - 19.6%
2021 pick 7 - 26.7%
2021 pick 8 - 8.7%
2021 pick 9 - 0.6%

I don't think the Wolves will fall that far. There are not enough regular season games left for them to surpass Sacramento/Chicago, who are 8 wins ahead.

I highly doubt the Wolves will go, let's say, .500 from here till the end of the season.

It's gonna be ugly on these boards when we drop to 7 and Bob takes Kispert in search of a win now prospect.

UCLA Bob will take Johnny Juzang based on the Bruin's connection (see Looney also) and to bolster the Vietnamese American South Bay fan base.

All kidding aside, if the Warriors managed to get the 6th pick from the Wolves, I think Davion Mitchell is a great fit here. Older rookie, plays D, shoots well, plays a team game. He might not be as glamorous or have a high ceiling as the top 5, but he's ready to contribute in a role we desperately need to fill (no offense to Jordan Poole). Marcus Smart with a better shot isn't a bad ceiling.

Another win. I take anything this year. Imagine getting a 12th pick next year. Now that is sad.

We're actually getting close to pissing away our first round pick. I don't think we will. But, it would suck if we did.

If GSW can piss away their First round pick, Curry better get MVP award.

Another win by Minnesota. But Detroit also won. Minnesota is 5-5 in their last 10, and they will face a lot of playoff teams in the next 10 remaining games, including us.

My bet is that they will win no more than 3 of these 10 games (Houston, Detroit, Orlando, all of these will be away). So, 21 wins for them. Cleveland is 6th right now and has 21 wins.

The pick should still be good to go at the 3/5 range. And then there's the lottery as well.

I believe Orlando is the real "problem" here. OKC too. These teams are tanking HARD.

There are still roughly 2 months to go till the loterry (June 22nd). Regardless, we should have 2 top 18 picks at a very good, deep draft.

Anything else is profit.

That would not be worth losing the FRP.

Unless that FRP is Doncic, yes it would.

that's crazy talk, Minny pick next year could just as easily land out of the top10, especially if they add a Cade or Suggs, and have a full healthy Towns and improvements from their young guys like Antman

plus, waiting an extra for a top prospect (IF we get that) means that's one less year he'd have with this current core...just a bad idea all around...we need to be cheering for this pick to convey 4-5 THIS year, period.
