What?
Steph only 30 points+9+8 in just 30 minutes?!
Trade him!
He sucks!
He cannot carry a team!
He’s been exposed.
Trade him before his already low value drops even further!

Would be good to see him hit double-digits in 3, be on track for another 300 3PA season, to resume the all-time chase.

I could care less about any of this stuff on the periphery.

All I want is for Steph to be healthy, and we win games. Everything else falls into place if those two things happen.

He breaks out with the 62-point game and then follows with 30 and 38.

But then the last two games, 13 and 20 and the team struggles to score.

He had some plays where he's creating for himself but why doesn't he try more?

Can he come close to the 2016-17 season again where he takes control, game after game?

Curry just can't explode for 30-, 40 point games like he used to.

Maybe lack of spacing but I don't know that Klay alone would change that, assuming he comes back close to where he was.

There are questions about how the games of smaller guards age. Steph isn't an athletic freak so he has to be at his athletic peak in order to shot over usually the best wing defenders.

It's looking like shooting percentages for the seasonprobably won't be anywhere near his career averages.

Steph's averaging 28 a game broski, what are u talking about?

and yea, teams playing BA1 against the Warriors means that Steph is less likely to explode for 40...that's the entire point of it.

It's only 13 games but he's shooting 44/36.6, well off his career averages.

Last night he was missing open looks and missing pretty badly like side of the rim.

He made a big one against AD.

What's been the saving grace for him is that he's getting 6.4 FTAs per game, the highest in his career and over 50% more than his career 4.1 average.

You'd expect his shooting percentages to increase but his FTAs is likely to trend down.

In any event, we're going on 5 years since his peak season. Sure some of it could be lack of spacing from the lineups he's playing in but his pull-up stats have to be well off his peak.

That is what players like Kyrie, Beal, Lillard, Tatum, Levine are doing, pretty much creating for themselves off the dribble. That is what Curry did in his two MVP years.

Steph's still creating off the dribble, but he's having to do it more often off two or even three defenders. He's getting more free throws because he's having to drive more, because of the aforementioned BA1 and other specialized anti-Curry defenses. We all know that will change when Klay's back taking shots, and that's also the Ws plan for the next few years. Why are we sweating this now?

Curry is making $43 million this season and $45.8 million next season. Then UFA in 2022-23.

Warriors didn't extend him, which would have cost like $95-100 million for 2 more years. He will turn 33 this March and will be 34 before the 2022-23 season and 35 in March 2023.

He's shooting 45.1/37.1 vs. 47.6/43.3 for his career.

Would you give him a super-Max extension, $95-100 million which would go to age 36 to 37 in the 2024-25 season?

For me, Curry is the greatest player in franchise history but ideally, Wiseman or whoever they may draft with the Minnesota pick may become the face of the franchise and would be eligible for a max contract by the time Curry is 36 or 37.

I think Lacob would be hard-pressed to pay him that much unless he performs at his career levels and carries the team deep into the playoffs, packing Chase Center, whenever they allow fans in again.

Ideally, Lacob probably wants to pay Curry in his next contract like the way Spurs paid Tony Parker in his last few seasons at San Antonio. Not having the largest cap number because they would have to pay Kawhi eventually. But Parker's role was reduced, fewer minutes, fewer shot attempts, but still shooting 48-49%.
