People keep saying hes bad this year.
People keep saying hes the same playet.
People keep saying to trade him so oubre can get re-signed.

I just don't see it.

There’s only one way we trade Wiggins and it’s as salary ballast for a star. Sure as hell isn’t so we can keep Oubre. Which is on the other end of the spectrum

Wish I could have seen more of this game.. missed most of it. If Wiseman also played well, happy to see that

Oubre deserves a low key star tonight as well. Some of the same defensive rotation stuff, but a great supporting cast game on the offensive end

I've gone back and forth on him this game. I felt like he was having a horrible game, but then noticed he was actually being relatively efficient. I concluded that all in all he's doing okay, but when he's missing, he's missing ugly. Getting himself in terrible positions, missing shots he should never have taken, etc. But after a point you can't just applaud every time a guy has success and yell every time he makes a mistake. At some point, that's just who he is and how he plays.

He made an adjustment when he realized his 3 wasn’t gonna fall. I don’t think he’s had that self-awareness before

against a bad defensive team he has his way into the paint but vs a good team he will just kill us by throwing away ugly layups. Oubre is virtually worthless in playoffs, bad shooter and low bbiq plays will cost us big time if we keep him around

Kerr says the Warriors are going to make a run down the stretch.

Steph plays. Warriors win.

I wonder if there is a lesson in there somewhere?

I think the team that trades away their star doesn't want Wiggins... the team that wants Wiggins is the team that is doing ok with their young, cheap talent, has cap space, and needs a solid vet to help them take the next step.

You should play it back - definitely one of the funner games... including Draymond raining threes!

I would think teams prefer whatever salary ballast gets them the most draft opportunities as possible.. cap space is pretty pointless if you don’t have any stars, and I’d imagine a team like Washington would be ok with Wiggins provided our draft compensation was heavier than the traditional 6 late 1sts that teams are currently getting

Night and day when our MVP is back.

Great bounce back game from Wiseman and Baze.

Loved seeing Poole get those off ball cuts when his shot wasn't falling.

Didn't have a chance to watch the game yet, but if you just glanced at the box score, you'd be forgiven for thinking Chicago may have won this game. It looks like a great illustration of The Power Of The 3.

FGM GS +2
FG% CHI +2.4%
FTM Even
REB Even
AST CHI +5
STL GS +1
BLK GS + 3
TO CHI +5
3PM GS +10
3P% GS +17.1%

Instead it's a mini-blowout for the Dubs.

That’s what I was saying earlier in the season, it shocked me when it first came on for multiple reasons. First Kevon isn’t really famous outside of Warriors Fan boys. Second he has the least flashy game I have ever seen, he’s no Kobe or Jordan. Third he is like dunking the ball, which isn’t really his game. If he was sliding his feet on a switch it would be more accurate. Fourth they are using some voice changing machine, I have no clue what he’s saying. Surprised they don’t just let a pro athlete pitch the product rather than make it sound like some muffled handheld radio.

Yo, that **** came on and I was like 'uhhhh is that Kevon!?'

I thought it was some actor that looked just like him cause it just made no sense

I thought James was fantastic against an elite starting and backup 5. Stopped doing his 'moving tree' thing and seemed to say '**** it, I'm going for these blocks.' Was much more effective doing that. Got a couple chasedown blocks, Oubre stole at least ~3 of his 'gimmie' rebounds (which is always hilarious) but overall was very effective.

My three takeaways:

-It's obviously intentional, but I'd like to see Kerr do more than running a pick and lob for Wiseman. I counted 5 times where he ran out to the ball, set a screen then immediately tried to run for a lob. They may be trying to keep it simple for him, but we have a potential ferrari and we're treating him like he's a civic. At least vary up the actions a bit. Run some pick and pop. Run actions off him at the elbow. Or just run a play for him that isn't a lob. Again, probably more of a 'progression at his comfort' situation.

-Poole needs to put on weight. He is an absolute sieve on defense until then. Unless he becomes prime JR Smith 2.0, that side of the ball has to improve.

-Poole is continuing to accept that he's now a legitimate NBA player and budding, consistent scorer. If he gets the ball with 5 on the clock, it's his time to score. Not pass out to Nico, he has to make it happen. I'm not really concerned, just a pattern i've seen.

great to see Curry back and it was nice to see Wiggins looking for his shot in the lineup with Steph. Oubre was inefficient but played with energy and made an impact on the game. I liked what I saw out of Wiseman, the guy just needs to get some consistent minutes and his comfort level will improve greatly.

If we focus on process and not results Oubre took very few shots he shouldn't have taken tonight. He is a finisher not a decision-maker and not a facilitator. When the ball finds him in a scoring position it's his job to take the shot. If that shot happens rombe in the paint, sometimes help defenders are gonna alter the shot. But asking him to make drive and dish plays or hockey assists is taking him out of his core competency.

I just felt like he rarely did something that disrupted the flow last night. Even if he didn't produce at a high efg% he was doing what he's supposed to do in the spots where the ball foun him. And he let the ball find him.

In general as long as he stops camping out in Steph's spots his offensive forays are not nearly as much of a proboem for us as his undisciplined defensive free lancing. Draymond makesnjudisious defensive Gamble's when he knows the defense is in a position to recover if he doesn't make the play. Wiggins is learning to do the same as abukie specifically highlighted in his half court steal, it was a good time to gamble because there was a set defense behind him. Oubre is kinda just out there Spamming X when the ball comes near him.

When playing with reserves it's whatever. It's all busted plays and chaos anyway. But when he's playing with our starters he has to reign it in and show rotation and assignment discipline.

All this is probably why he's going to want out if he can get a decent contract offer elsewhere. Per his pouty interview after the trade deadline he is still of the mindset that "what he has to offer" is more important than sacrificing for a team concept.

I guess the two of them running p & r is one way to keep them out of each others way.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Read on Twitter

Kerr tweaked the offense to better suit wiggs and wiseman and he shortened the bench.

He wants to jumpstart "the run".

The idea that Oubre will be worse in the playoffs is i think incorrect. In the more physical playoff reffing he might come in handy as someone who still has a shot at finishing plays.

I'm glad some of us recognize the value Oubre brings. Which entirely revolves around his athleticism. We have nobody else like him on the roster. Not even Wiseman, for all his size and fluidity, is the sort of extreme quick twitch athlete that Oubre is. He's like, 99.99 percentile athletic human being. Maybe a dozen guys in the NBA as explosive as he is. He could have been an Olympic level track and field athlete.
