Retool our bench with Cohan Era bench players to contend

Post#1 » by cdubbz » Mon Apr 5, 2021 2:01 am

Re-tool our current bench with Cohan era (1991-2010).

Goal is to make a championship roster for the 21-22 season.

Rules:
1. Starters are locked in and so is Kelly Oubre Jr.
2. You can keep bench players or swap them out for Cohan era players.
3. Salaries don’t matter obviously.

Warrior Starters:
Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
Andrew Wiggins
Draymond Green
James Wiseman

Bench:
Kelly Oubre Jr

GO!!!

Anthony Morrow, Matt Barnes, Anthony Tolliver, Kelenna, and Rony Turiaf. I keep Poole, JTA, Lee, and Looney.

Steph/Poole
Klay/Morrow/Lee
Wiggins/Oubre/Azubuike
Dray/Barnes/Tolliver/JTA
Wiseman/Looney/Turiaf

Huge upgrades to our shooting, lots of size, and plenty of defense.

Seems like a scrappy 8th seed

2nd year Arenas, Jcrime, and Jamison would make our bench adequate, i think.

Sure as hell beats what we have now. In this scenario we can only choose Cohan era bench guys right?

A couple thoughts:
1) Thank you for slotting King Dev into his rightfully place as a starter
2) Dom McGuire is a do-it-all swiss army knife that still has incredible potential

It really seemed like the warriors ushered in an era of taking the G-League more seriously. For a while there, that was our entire roster save a starter or 2.
