That's the thing though, if he's got Lillard and Klay around him, he's not going to be double-teamed much, you can't. Everyone is going to get open shots. 3 elite shooters/scorers and Draymond ready to get it to any of them. And someone else waiting to dunk? And yes, I do think you could pull in some ring-chasing vets with that lineup. Not saying it would work, I'm not even really advocating for it, but it would be a terrible lineup to try to defend.
They will still double Curry and leave Dame open more though. Curry is a 43% three pointer shooter and Dame is 38%. huge difference and teams are not stupid.

Still a bad choice though. It's not like doubling Steph this year where Mulder, Lee, and JTA are taking the shot. 3 elite scorers and at least one of them is going to be in single coverage (or no coverage) at all times. Don't forget Lillard can also work inside the 3 point line when needed where he gets superstar treatment from the refs, and he was the best freethrow shooter in the league last year at 93%.

Smarter move is to try to get in on a three team trade with Portland and Milwaukee and get Holiday and give up Wiggins, the two lottery picks and Pascall. Portland might want to go young.

I understand the desire to get as much from Curry as possible, but this draft is certain to have stars available at both 1st round picks plus Wiggins who is now a genuinely good NBA player for 31 year old good player who is often injured ... that trade is a good example of why good front offices don't listen to fans.

Good young draft picks being on rebuilding teams not contenders. The great FO is looking at real effective players not a one year decent fit at max money, as the pieces for the next three years.

Not just getting Holiday but he'd be the main player. Wiggins just isn't that good, his advanced stats are pretty bad as well.

Lillard wanting Kidd as a head coach is a serious red flag
Kidd seems to be like Mark Jackson minus the religiousity... and as much as I dislike Kidd from a personal level, that might actually be a bridge too far. He might not be *that* bad. But he clearly isn't some hot commodity as a coach and its very unclear why his name keeps coming up despite his flagrant failures
