Since Steph and Dray wanted Bradley, I wonder if they were in favor of signing GPII. At least he gives us a defensive body that we can stick on guards like Dame, Harden, Beal, Booker. etc. If we can get him to improve his shot, that would be even better.

Good. He earned it and he can contribute. He has a skill that no one else on the roster really offers. Spot minutes, change of pace, foul trouble, punching Lou Williams in the face. He will help us compete at some point this year.

I still very much wonder about the whole Bradley/Curry/Green thing. There were rumors a week or 2 ago, before games were played, that Curry and Green wanted to keep Bradley. Wonder if that was what was sourced for the more recent article.. because I'd have to imagine Curry and Green saw the same thing we did on the court

I think that was a press release by the Warriors to help Bradley get signed by another team. The Warriors do like to keep good relationships with players if they can.

Nice. Glad they signed him, I think GPII (aka. The Mitten) is a useful player to have around.

Does Bradley have an agent? Maybe trying to keep hope alive to draw interest from another team that didn't watch him pratfall in pre-season?

I have a The Glove tee shirt from Oaklandish. Whenever I wear that in Oakland I get a lot of comments - much love for Gary Payton in Oakland.
Also, Cookies' Gary Payton is pretty dank

Happy for GP2, and that it’s non-guaranteed. If it was guaranteed, I don’t think I’d like it as much.
I saw with the 15th spot and 2nd 2-way a couple of needs: a defensive guard, and a bulky big. These needs are more acute before Klay and Wiseman come back, and the players could get time early in the regular season. GP2 definitely fits the first, which is great. I still wish they’d addressed the second, but it is what it is…..

Non-guaranteed deal. Warriors got a defender and flexibility to not add to the tax.

I'm pulling for him.
He deserves a guaranteed contract along the way.
He fought enough and proved himself to be a NBA-caliber player.

Best of both worlds. Remedied somewhat defense at backup PG spot and remained flexed / didn't add to the tax.
I believe non guaranteed deal was the only scenario for filling in the 15th spot. They may have offered it to Bradley, who may have refused to sign a non guaranteed deal. GPII did. Simple as that, end of story. However small in impact it may be, I personally am glad it turned that way. For the identical trait they bring in, younger, more mobile, more hungry, more tenacious at this stage player.

Sure, there probably are more appealing options than GPII, But are they going to take the non guaranteed deal?

I'm fine with GP. I just wanted it to be a point guard, so I'm happy.

Bradley probably would have jumped at it. He signed an identical non-guaranteed, minimum contract with the Lakers. People keep saying because Payton is non-guaranteed it doesn't go on the tax, but whatever they pay him goes on the tax. The longer they keep him the more that goes on the tax. What it does do is keep the partial guarantee he had coming if he weren't waived off the tax.
If I were him, I might feel like, by cutting and then re-signing me, they screwed me out of a half million dollars that I would have collected on opening day from the original contract. But it's not like he had a lot of choices if he wanted to stay in the league.

This signing makes me happy.
Not a vital piece...but defense and explosion are nice to have in our back court.

A friend of mine knows Gary Payton pretty well. He's apparently a cool dude.
