So what’s the plan with all the young guys on the team

Wiseman-Will probably come of the beach 10-15 minutes a game
Moody will barely play
Jonathan Kuminga Will barely play. Maybe he can take some of Wisemans minutes
Is our GM brain dead? Trade them now for an impact player that can help us win

They're trying to compete for a title and develop for the future at the same time. We'll see if we can achieve that. I think competing for a title means we should be a top 4 team in the west. I think we should be able to do that as is. With Klay we got a shot at a title.

I think they have to be smart about their minutes, but I also think they have to work hard to get them on the floor where they can have the least negative effect, and if their effect is positive they will get more minutes and more meaningful minutes.

The plan is very simple IMO: the young guys will start the season on the bench, barely playing.
As the season goes on, they will start getting opportunities to play, either by merit or by circumstance.
And they will finish the season playing much more than at the beginning.
I trust our coaching & development staff, they have an eye for the medium/long term success of this team.
Remember that last season Poole only started getting real minutes on March.

as the season wears on, the veterans will need rest and there should be plenty of garbage minutes to go around. they can also get playing time in the g league as well.

This is an excellent team with good depth.
Let the kids ferment and get better.
There is no reason to make a trade for the sake of making a trade.
Patience is a virtue.

@mods - Let's have a stick thread for Currygoat so he doesn't need to start random threads whining about the same thing every few days?

And, who would you package the young talent with in your proposed trade?
The Warriors cannot take on the salary of an impact-star player unless the trade includes a Wiggins-Green-Thompson-Curry. Out of those four Warriors, which player would you package with the younger players in your proposed trade?
"...Trade them now for an impact player that can help us win" The Warriors have won their first two games of the season, is going on the road to play two winnable games, and then has an 8-game homestand. Barring injuries or a complete letdown, the Warrior record should/could be 9-3/10-2. How do you define "help us win?"

I'm going to start a new thread every time I suddenly decide to start an argument we've already had here twenty times. That will be a good use of the forum. It will also keep me busy, because otherwise I'm just eating Captain Crunch and swearing because Princess Peach is in another castle. I mean, come on! Another castle AGAIN?

Let the guy be. Freedom of expression comes first.
He is not doing nobody any harm, except for himself, and that's very debatable too.
This would be the same as me asking for mods to delete Old Blue's posts because I didn't agree with something he said.
Plus, it makes this forum a funnier place, with more threads to browse.

We BARELY won last night, and it took Steph scoring 45.
We have an MVP level player in his prime and are using three roster spots on guys who will hardly play meaningful minutes so that we can develop the 2026 Golden State Warriors. On top of that we have 1 max roster slot on a 3&D roleplayer and one on Klay coming off major injuries. And people act like Currygoat is the crazy one

To be fair if you read all of Currygoat's posts, he does come off as being a bit crazy/emotional.
In terms of trading, there is no reason to move on from our assets now when there is no player a team is selling low on that we want. At the same time our assets will appreciate over time (Moody, Wiseman, Kuminga). Wait for a good deal, don't just take a deal because you want to make one. Additionally we'll be finding out more about our needs as we play this new-look team together (plus Klay's return), which could help us find the right trade/deal.
It's much better to continue inflating the value of your assets when there are no good deals to be had than to sell low at a time when there are no assets you want at a good value. That would be getting terrible value!
There's no reason to be make a deal now.

Warriors have the perfect balance of vets and young guys. They'll win games while the rooks slowly develop for the future.
People getting too frantic over last night. Warriors barely won because they got overconfident with the 19 point lead and started playing sloppy--that's something they'll learn from. If they lost the game it would have been because the Warriors beat themselves by letting their foot off the gas pedal. We saw them beat the Lakers with Steph having a bad-shooting night, relax.

I actually think it's great that they aren't getting playing time just by virtue of their draft position, which is usually the case for lottery picks. Let them work on their game in practice, and when their opportunity comes, make it hard for the coaches to take them off the floor - instead of being gifted minutes and developing bad habits.
No scholarships!

Unless the value on the young guys goes down... Or the perfect deal doesn't come for another 3 years... Or it never comes at all...
There's a reason they say a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush

I think the Lacob pretty much made it clear. It was from one of his early interviews before the season.
If the Warriors don't get it done then Curry, Klay, Dray, Wigs & rest then they just weren't good enough. From Lacob's perspective, we got the highest payroll in the league. He doesn't want the team to be devoid of young talent when Curry stops playing. Granted there's no guarantee that Wiseman, Moody, Kuminga etc will be good but Lacob is the guy that cuts the checks so there you go.
